Most that "ask" to be mods won't be mods....

LOL don't worry about it. Just help out and show some support for the forum.

 

I can almost guarantee a reported post is read within 2-3hrs of it being reported, but not every report requires action.

Also, most of the moderators generally take a quiet, not seen approach to moderating the forum, Jonel frowns on being ****'s. I will say some mods are more active then others, but they usually at least check on things throughout the day. I know that every reported post generates an email that is sent to all the mods, so even if they aren’t on the forums, they still get a notice and can make sure everything is ok.

Best way to be a mod: don't get a bunch of warnings/infractions, don't be an *******/troll, report posts, and be helpful when you can. Trust me, we mods and the admin notice active members that are helpful, stay out of trouble, and report problems and that is how new mods get chosen

I help people out all the time, I've only ever had one infraction relating to sig size, and I'm nice to everyone =]

 

when i was chosen to be a mod we didn't have warnings/infractions so i just got PM's from other mods including admin.

i wasn't an ******* or troll but i was a little since i drove a honda on a cobalt site. alot of members gave/give me **** over it.

there was no 'reporting' posts back then either.

wasn't helpful either since i don't know **** about domestic engines.

i guess jonel and other mods saw something else in me when they chose me. i'm guessing it was my experience in being a mod that they liked.

I still think having a mod on a model specific forum, they should own one. Not that it makes any real difference, just as a principal thing.

I mean, as long as he owns the honda as well, I think thats fine. But it would be odd for some american muscle guy to be a mod on hondatech or some ****.

 

but imagine the pwnage...he would tell everyone their slow, and then raven will come and be like i challenge u 5000 and still lose.

 

...I personally don't care what they drive, if they are a good moderator and keep the forum cleaned up I could care less.

 

I think we put this to rest and just have a gto owner be a mod.... I think I would be a great canidate
