The Official Reputation Thread
I'm posting this because I haven't seen a formal announcement yet, so if I'm wrong just let me know, and I will take it down.
Alright, if anyone didn't notice yet, (I didn't right away) we now have a reputation system.
You can give other members positive or negative rep using the icon on the left side panels of one of their posts, near the online status circle, or their info page. You can also leave a comment about why you posted a certain rep.
You are only able to rep a certain amount of times per given period, so use your points wisely with other people. Rep points are a great way to show you're appreciation or disapproval towards someone, but like I said, use your points wisely.
As you gain more rep points, there is a small green indicator near the post count, which displays the user's current rep power.
In your User CP, at the bottom, you can see where you have gotten rep from. (Which post someone gave you rep for) and also, an optional comment about it.
I just made this thread to teach the basics of Reputation, and to let more people know it was implemented, because I myself didn't notice it.

I don't know why but I see this getting abused. I hope not though because it could really deter from the "you should have gotten the 2.0" crap that goes on here way too much. I hope this works out good.
oh yeah, +rep for explain this to us hack

Any good idea usually can have a good devil's advocate as well. It will be interesting to see if Jonel or a moderator can get on here and let us know the "official" rules about how often you can "rep" someone and what precautions have been taken to monitor this for abuse. Overall, I think it's a great idea and this site seems to be getting better everyday...
