well, i'm pretty anti-street racing. i'm not saying i drive like an old man, and never speed or anything, because i do. i give the car a good pull every now and then getting onto an empty highway. but i know a bunch of people that have died or lost their cars, or killed other people street racing from when i was young so it's never something i did.

i've street raced maybe 3 times in my life, and i'm 26.

I think for sake of how the past threads have gone.... yes, they should get rid of street racing posts.

I never understood why this forum permitted threads about street racing to begin with.

Agreed. If people want to be stupid on the street, fine. I don't want or need to hear about it. There's enough garbage *cough*FnF*cough* out there that makes these fucktards think it's kewl to drive around like an asshat, there doesn't need to be a community that facilitates a discussion on it.

Me either, when 99% of respectable forums don't allow it. Then again I did say "respectable"...

It tis thanks to our first amendment rights to freedom of speach.

If you don't like it don't look at the post. Or if you feel so motivated to do so, post your feelings and try to sway them to not do it next time.

NO!!!

Driving stupidly is reckless driving/ reckless endangerment.

People drive stupidly all the time and most are anything but racing!

this site is repectable there is tons of great info and tons of very smart people like anom but its the 16 year old kids who just get cars or the immaturity due to the young nature of the newer members of this site, they ask how much hp will i get with a CAI, how much will i get with this, taking away the street racing will not take away the immaturity, they still will join and they still will say im just doing this to be faster than my buddies _________..

First off i would like to say i was a young teenager that raced and got caught. I got 5 tickets and was in court for two years. After that event i have not "street raced" i had to go to meetings and all this bullshit and it does effect you. i think stoping in the middle of the road and going 120 is stupid. maybe a quick run on the highway here and there isnt bad. maybe 40-100 pull. i mean people here travel 90+ anyway on there way to work. i dont believe going any faster is needed.

Most of this kids that do get into accidents dont know the limits of there car. and weave in out of traffic. they also run on stock suspensions and stock brakes. when i had my gti i what to my speed limiter 130 on a stock suspension and at the time i was like wow. i went out get coilovers and had it tuned and did it again, and sat there and cursed my self out for doing on my stock set up it was loose and if i hit a bump forget it i would have been dead.

no matter what is said people will not listen. even if you ban it people will be like "i did it on a closed course" and blah blah blah. As much as a agree with you on banning it people will find away around it. Keep it and let the kid get ripped on by its members. and take pionts away and if that person keep racong people and posting about it he will soon enough be banned.

you guys arent getting it.
banning it isnt going to stop it.
no ****. of course it isnt.
but that isnt the purpose of banning it.

im not trying to STOP streetracing. im trying to STOP glorifying it.
the same way they dont like releasing things to the public that will make a criminal more infamous.

and if you think we arent glorifying it and condoning it. then your naive and in denial.

I never post on those threads. And if I were to it would more than likely be to tell them they were being a *******. In fact I just peeked at it for the first time right now!

120MPH FTL! Very stupid.

this isnt about being offended my man.

this is like being on a rifle club forum, and having a section devoted to poaching.
and the poachers saying....if you dont like it, dont read it.

If you read my previous post, you will see where I quoted someone giving dude all kinds of props and smileys and gold cups and ****. Maybe, I was being a bit vague, but in my mind, that kinda made it obviouse that we were glorifying it (and therefor agreeing with you on that point).
