to many ppl, oh, nvm, it's like 740am here making it 940pm on the west coast and around 1230am on the east.

Seems to happen every sunday night

 

It's the server sending out all of the thread subscription email updates. The weekly emails are sent every Sunday at the same time...so that explains it.

 

there's only like 220 ppl on. wonder what it was like the night they had over 700? haha

ah, that makes a lot of sense.

 

Yeah...it sucks. It's probably a cron job set up by vBulletin to run every Sunday night. So think about how many threads that each member is probably subscribed to and set it to email updates weekly. It fact, I think the default option (when a user first registers) is to subscribe to every thread you post in and to receive email updates weekly. It kills the server.

So everybody: DELETE ALL OF YOUR WEEKLY SUBSCRIPTIONS!!!

not to mendtion vBulletin probably supports more than just this forum...

it's not automatic for me, but no big.

 

haha now just get every member to do this and we'll be golden!

 

It happens every Monday morning around 12:30am EST, it is when the server is scheduled to send out all of it's emails and runs a few other scheduled tasks. Usually only lasts a few minutes and everything goes back to normal.
