Lately about 12:30am - 1:00am EST I receive sporadic server busy messages, it happens almost everyday at the same time, lasting about 10min/error. This goes on for about an hr or so and the goes away.

Is there way you can look at this to see if there is a solution?

It seems those are peak hours. Too much connections can load too much a server. I noticed that it happens from 9:00 - 10:00 PM

 

Yeah, It may be a change over period. I know that my internet in general gets CRAZY slow loading around midnight every night

For me, I always get the server busy error when it's about 10 a.m. - I guess I'm not the only one wasting company time at work!

 

I have the same thing happen, guess we need more primo members to help the cause

 

Just a guess but I would say the busiest time isnt 10-12 on a sunday night

 

Not so much, but there's a decent amount goin on, on here tonight. Damn, I planned to take a nap at work tonight too. lol

Its when the server is emailing updates to members.

The mass e-mailing overloads the server.

Yeah, I tried to turn that crap off and I still got like 8000 darn emails

 

If you notice, the server only gets "busy" when e-mail is getting sent.

Jonel should turn it off and set updates as optionally off.

 

My email updates are only on sundays (even though I would prefer not having all that sent to me) but Reign is sayin it happens throughout the week, which I have noticed on occassion as well

oh, ok... i justhope it gets fixed. i like this site, but it sucks to get locked out when you are trying to get info.

I think admin should evaluate whether this feature is needed at all. Does anyone even want these email notifications?
I've had mine turned off forever. A few weeks ago something screwed up the server and I got like 100+ emails, flooding my inbox. At the same time, I was online here and getting the server busy message.

When I log on I always check "My Posts" sooner or later. I think it is easier to log in and check your posts than it is to open and close and delete hundreds of emails.

The software used here on the forum is amazing. I just think that deleting that one feature would speed things up for everyone and substantially reduce the workload on the server.
