Well my car club I am in has a shout box on there forum I think it would be a great idea to have a IRC chat box on this forum. So members can just chat and bs back and forth and it would lower the post counts and cause less stress on the webservers.

 

I agree! It's the most used feature of the other local site im on. It would eliminate the "workchat" threads!

Yep once a day at least I cant access the forums cause its so bogged down. Maybe a chat box will take a load of the normal chat that goes on.

 

there is a chat room tab at the very top.....

 

that chat doesn't work. it brings up an error

 

Shoutbox would fail the server faster than normal posting

 

Shoutboxes use up alot of bandwidth, I think it would be good for the site, but they could also limit it to premium+ members

yes and no a shoutbox and be put on a different server so it wouldnt use any bandwidth from this site. and if it was irc it would be all good.
