You can take the power washer to it if your careful, some people just like to take the extra time to do it by hand and be a little more cautious! I don't see a problem with it just do your best to avoid direct spray on the electrical wires and goods!

I used a power washer yesterday to clean it, but a degreaser first would praly be better

Simple Green Ultimate... Let it soak for a couple minutes then just a gentle wash with the hose.

Re-coat with Simple green ultimate and scrub with hard bristle brush on accessible areas. Repeat with hose.

Then Mothers back to black or equivalent on plastic covers. Small bits of wax on the strut towers and polish off.

Blow dry with leaf blower then turn the key and let it burn the rest of the water off.

i suggest if you're gonna power wash it with a pressure washer then avoid spraying any electrical connections or fuse boxes etc. high pressure water can get into the nooks and crannies and then poof. blown fuses or your car won't start at all. some people like to rinse the engine while it's running to avoid it from drowning the motor. to each their own.

My friend owns a detailing business and he uses a dregreaser and then just pressure washes it but if you have an aftermarket intake make sure to cover it up first

I usually used GUNK degreaser w/ Engine Brite. They have normal and heavy duty but i havent sseen the difference in the 2, lol. Spray it on pretty much everything, and rinse either w a hose or pressure washer on an "idle" spray. Then ill try to dry it up as best as i can on specific areas, and after that ill sray on som foaming tire shine on all the hoses and plastic parts. It usually turns out with a decent shine to it.

do not get any water n the belt/pulleys/electrical connections. i used to work at autozone and people would come in all the time with problems that were caused by washing their engine bay. your best bet is to take a brush and do it all by hand, don't just spray it down. and yea engine degreaser/gunk stuff works pretty good
