2009 GM Lone Star Bash *Feb 09*
I updated the op, so no one gets confused on whats going on!!!
i guess i can go ahead and let this out of the bag since everything is going so well..
the 2009 lone star bash will be held at TEXAS MOTORPLEX in Ennis Texas !
for those that arnt familiar its about 30 minutes south of Dallas..so those that live in the DFW area should have no excuse not to attend.
this track is HUGE. It is a full 1/4 mile track with over 30 acres of parking area total..much more than we will actually need.
i cant acutally release the date at this moment but look forward to a more MID spring date instead of the previous FEB. date that was posted before. this truly is good news since this is probably the best track in texas and a much better location for people that want to come from surrounding areas...remember..this is supposed to be a " state meet " type event , meaning this is your once a year chance to meet and race members from all over the state ! and as big as texas is thats alot of people !
people like, Marty Lagwig,GM tuner tour, and Trifecta tuning have expressed interest in coming to this event..i am also working on magazine coverage for this event but of course the bigger the turn out the more theyll want to come.
so be prepared and save some pennys cus i expect ALL OF YOU to come out!
and for those that arnt familiar with the track here are some pics..
and ofcourse all info can be found at www.texasmotorplex.com
see you guys soon!

I am so far not sure if I will be able to return to defend my technical 1st place win for the deltas (CJ's doesn't count dammit!!! lol). I have to worry about expenses for law school and LSAT's this year, unfortunately.

your missing a fun event if you don't come!!! Trust me you won't regret not going. Remember you don't have to show, you can just race like the last two times.

i shall make it to the 3rd bash as well. i talked to scott and theres some great stuff happening for next years bash.
- most are familiar with the Texas Heatwave. well he got with them for help with trophys. he has a handful of sponsors he's looking at that will cover the cost of the trophys. there will be a spot on the trophys for each sponsors name.
- the track said, though it will be open to the public(sat is usually slow), we will have priorty at the track and the parking area.
- track is a quarter mile.
- working on a host hotal with special rates for us, a few miles away from the track.
- looking into a possiable after-party event with a DJ at a banquet room in the hotel.(still in the works or other ideas for after the bash)
we need more cobalts to show up to continue making this event bigger. we are getting a bigger facility, name brand sponsors, host hotel, and more sponsors. last 2 years jbodies are still beating the cobalt numbers maybe 1 to 9. need bigger numbers to bring bigger sponsors and making it a major yearly event. how about eventully getting magazine coverage? come to race, come to show, come to do both, or come for support. its looking to be about the last weekend in feb.

a little local knowledge about SAR... when it is open on saturdays it is usually open at nights for special events. so..... since it will be open during the day as T&T there might not be that many people.

count me in...having the show at SAR is the way to go, better track compared to temple...ran my first 1/4 mile there, i need to go back and see if i can get better times, tryin to get into low 15's...will be very possible after my next few mods

Come with us Last year we had about 12 cars in our Houston caravan. Dont worry, we'll be planning a big pre-meet that morning and a nice fun cruise. The goal is to have about 20+ cars from Houston this year
