I've been a member for 2 months now, and no word about meet-ups or cruises. A few people meet here and there, but I want to see how strong the Dallas Cobalt numbers are. Anyone want to help put something together? Let's cruise, stop for a bite, maybe a beer, and roll from there. Anyone down?

 

Folks around here have gott'n lazy lately or something. But for real most folks have just been busy and we all can't agree on a good time or place. We have shown that it can happen.

 

Well, maybe if we plan like 3 weeks in advance or something? I don't know. Let's start with you...where would you want to meet and cruise to?

 

Grapevine seemed too work fine for everyone I think a saturday evening would draw the most people.

 

Yeah, I was thinking meeting up at Grapevine Mills Mall parking lot would be good. Then maybe cruis around to eat in Ft. Worth, have some eats, and go from there. But I'd like to do it during the day so we can get good pics and people can see the "Cobalt Crew" better.

i didnt realize it was fathers day but then again i dont even know where mine is at, so hah score one for the broken family, im goin racin. although id probly even go if it was mothers day, she knows short of an emergency racin comes first shes cool like that.

I WILL be going to the TMS laps for charity in Sept though, everyone on here needs to go as well!

 

i think alot of the reason why people dont come to the autocrosses is they cant handle being beaten by a 50 to 60 year old man in a car that should be slower. that whole pride thing gets in the way, but the only way to get fast is seat time and more seat time. ive been looking into joining one of the clubs locally that rent the track out in crescent(motor sports ranch), i could get more seat time in a day for about $150 than a whole season of autocross. i feel im on the verge of another leap in the driving skill area, i know i could shave a second or more off my times with a concentrated dose of seat time.

 

Well my problem is just that i always have **** going on when theres an event. Dont get me wrong, I want to be out there, its just that there is ALWAYS **** going on when theres an event, even with ER now it seems... But when there isnt an event, I am BORED AS HELL

 

yea i hear ya, last year i only made two events and had to leave early at both of them, and i wasnt pokin at ya just venting a little. so many people wanna street race, but always get out of it when the turns come up and im like hell thats when the race begins.

Well, It doesn't get dark until after 7 so footage shouldn't be a huge deal and if you really want the numbers the evening is the way too go. I'm personally down for watever i'm just saying.

 

we need to do something thats actually in dallas. cops around here arent anywhere near as bad as grapevine. last time we went there someone got pulled over that wasnt even doing anything wrong. plus we got kicked out of the lot that we met in.

there is a HUGE lot that we could meet in over here and the cops DONT CARE. plus there is a nice service road there for some runs. there is a mustang meet there every friday and there are usually at least 30 of em there and they dont get kicked out or messed with.

its right on the border of plano and dallas at coit and george bush turnpike. nice area, nice cops, good lighting(if its night time), good places to get some drinks, and LESS COPS!!!!!

 

that sounds good, I would love it if we could get a turn out like we did back in.... was it February??

 

I would like to wait until Vaughn gets back from Mexico though. You guys want to make it for a month from today? Saturday, July 14th? We can agree on a place after we agree on a date.

 

Whatever and where ever it doen't matter to me we just need to start doing stuff.

saturdays are rough for me since i work from 9am to 9:30pm, but maybe i can work something out

 

If it's in North Dallas, like by Plano, then I probably won't make it.

 

I can say Mckinney cops dont give a damn as long as we aint stupid. Hell, there is a cop here that has an SS/SC but I dont think he's on the site......
