high mileage 2008 cobalt ss turbo

I just bought a 2008 cobalt ss turbo with 72k miles on it. Has trifecta tune CAi injen and mpx FMIC, hahn upper piping, downpie, 3' exhaust and other mods . Got it for $12500 no warranties. Got it at ford dealer in cleveland texas, honestly i got a feeling it will give me problems because ive read some of the threads here about cobalt ss turbo. Did i pay too much? Or did i made a wrong decision buying this car? Due to high mileage and aftermarket Parts. Just got it last friday. Thanks!

Assuming its been decently taken care of why would it give you problems? Pretty much anything built in the last 20 yrs can go 150-200k without any major repairs if it gets decent care.

Seems these cars sell differently depending where you live. So its hard to say if you paid a lot or not

As long as you are happy. The dealership only would give me $12k for my car :|

It was priced for $14998 i asked the dealer if i can get it for $11k or let me know if the price drops. They emailed me after 2 weeks offered $13k then told them 12500 and il buy it that afternoon, bought it but not sure about the high mileage. Thanks man

I assume you read some of the horror stories on here but most of us really have good cars. Also I believe a lot of us have modified our cars which kinda throws off the stock reliability.

I've got almost 73k miles on mine. Doesn't burn oil, coolant, or anything like that. I had the sunroof adjusted under warranty, rear brakes adjusted and new pads and rotors under warranty, and a recall for the stuck key. That's it. Nothing that kept the car from being usable. Still have original front pads and rotors. Got over 50k on the rears.

The trans becomes an issue when you start pushing really high power or drive like a idiot. You should be ok.

just check the recalls and see if ur car is affected. if so get them updated.

aside from that with the engine being direct injected ur gonna have valve gunk build up. it decreases horse power. there are solutions for it just search the forums..
