Houston area GM/Cobalt dyno tuner

Anyone get their Cobalt s/c dyno tuned or know where to get dyno tuned in or around the Houston area. I'd perfer one thats dealt with Cobalt S/C before or has knowledge of the motors. Also would be great if they can install some goodies on site. I'm ready to go ahead with 2.8, 60 lbs, and meth injection.

man i was wondering the same thing sehoublackss...i have talked to a shop called turbochargers.com which is north houston somewhere off of 610 i believe and they said they could custom dyno tune my ss/sc with my mods and for my meth injection for around $500...but hell if we can get a few people in on it i bet we could get a discount on a dyno/tune day!!!

and they can also install anything and everything you want.

Guys, I am going to be getting tuned soon, but it's going to be done by a guy in Dallas. He has tuned LSJs before - I believe he tuned JapEatr's Cobalt. It's going to be $400 for a full dyno tune. Let me know if you guys are interested and I'll see if he can work us in on the same day. If so, maybe we can head up there together.

Were you the guy I gave a "Stage 2 demo ride" to? lol. I haven't done much else since then - just a Borla catback and airbox mod w/K&N, though I do have some new wheels and halo projectors on order. The tune is next because this thing just runs pig-rich and I want to get stuff changed like my fan settings, rear O2 delete for future exhaust mods, etc. Hoping to gain a bit of power from the tune, 10 whp would be sweet.

I'm looking at going within the next few weeks. I'd like to be tuned before the GM Lone Star Bash.

I haven't talked to Jay in a long time, so I don't know what else he's done to his car. Last time at the track, I think he ran a 15.7 or 15.8 - not bad for a 2.2.

Cool. I was going to try to get tuned before the GM Lone Star Bash on the 19th, but it's not a "must-do", since I might not even race there. I'll try to work around the fact you can't do it the 12th. If he'll tune on Sunday we might do that. I asked him when he's able to tune in my last email to him, so I'll check my email when I get home - can't access it from work - and see what he said. If he only tunes on weekdays, I won't be doing it until after April 16 because I've got too much going on at work to ask for a day off right now. I'll keep you guys posted.

yea i couldnt do it that soon either because of money. i couldnt do it until probably 3 to 4 weeks from now...and how much is this guy gunna charge us exactly? from the looks of it there are 3 ss/sc that are for sure wanting to do this, so surely he would give us a discount of some sort. and can he tune for meth too?? and whats the gm lonestar bash and where is it at? is that the one in austin??

I haven't heard back from the tuner yet, but it's $400 total for a *full dyno tune* on a Mustang dyno, which I think is already a pretty competitive price. From what I understand, since a Mustang dyno is a load-bearing dyno, it's better for tuning than on an interia-type dyno, like a Dynojet. That's just what I've read when researching tuning and dyno types.

Kwest - I sent him a list of your mods (including your meth kit) in my last email to him; just waiting on his reponse.

The GM Lone Star Bash is April 19th in Temple. Huge thread about it in this section of the board.
