possible COBALT Texas meet??
was wondering is there an interest in a COBALT meet only?? don't mean to sound stuck up or anything, just thought it would be cool to have a texas COBALT only meet. to be honest, i think Austin would be a nice place to host it. then maybe go to dallas the next year, then houston,etc...just remembering from back in the day when i owned my mr2 and those meets in austin was fun. okay,my flame suit is on lol.

Austin only has about 2-3 cobalts, most of them are cavvys. Your best bet would be Houston or Dallas (Dallas doesn't have many either, but OKC usually comes down with a bunch).

Just looked up where you are located, your best bet is Houston GM's. And the closest thing you'll have to an all cobalt meet is the Lonestar Bash that is held every year which is all GM Sport Compacts... it was in Temple this year but was in March so you would have to wait till next year.

well guys, that was my point lol...not seem snooty but a COBALT only meet. no disrespect to other gm cars and trucks, but a simple texas cobalt meet. i said austin because of the nice roads to go for a cruise on. i know houston have alot of cobalt owners and i'm sure they would love to get together. idk, maybe i shouldn't say much more because i don't want anyone to get the wrong impression of what i'm trying to say lol. i would drive to another state within reason for this to happen. just want to see cobalt owners all in one place sharing different ideas. i mean if it's a mixed meet, then me talking to some one with a camaro and them listening to me about a cobalt would not be interesting imo.
and i plan on being at the modern meet

Well there are at least 20 Cobalts in GM of Houston and we dont discriminate any other GM compact owners. You'll be begging for a GM meet when the Cobalt fades away and is replaced by the Cruze, Sonic, and any other future Chevys lol

^^^^that's cuz ur a durty B-nur....
Yeah dude, we're not like corvette clubs by any means. We're organized, but we like diversity when we meet, so it's hard to really say "Only Cobalts" without ostracizing who we regularly hang with. Besides, the fun comes from seeing a cobalt out run some of the other platforms that come too

In reality...when we usually have our meets..arnt the majority really cobalts anyway? sure there are some other cars thrown in but if they arnt your thing you dont have to talk about them. Just like lone star bash...when we started that event it was 90% cavaliers..the cobalts were the tag alongs...now the cavs day has passed...and now probably 90% of attendees are cobalt drivers...most of the other platforms that show up still have the same drivetrain basically so you still have something in common. Not trying to flame you by any means so dont take it that way. just is what it is.

i understand guys and i like the gm group in houston alot of knowledge about mods and tuning by members that don't own cobalts. i like the other platforms being part of the group. just thought how cool it would be to have 20 or 30 cobalts meeting up. just was am idea thrown out there from an old lurker, but newby to the cobalt...
we don't have to be vettes for some something like that to happen. like when i had my mr2,we had meets that was very car show like with fun driving.
whats funny about this thread is at least 13 people posted with a cobalt in the sig, which tells me they own one(probably). and 1 or 2 that sound like they have one. now imagine those 15 or so coming together to meet lol. then who knows how many others are out there wanting to do it.

We get what your saying dude. But we just had a statewide meet, where were you? cobalts came from austin, san antonio, dallas, and houston. we had a 1/4 mile track all to ourselves.
weve been doing this meet for the past 6 years in different cities. Its called lone star bash.
You guys really should make it out next time.
