Yeah i got beat too, but it was from a 50-60mph punch on the highway and he pulled away at first but then i got behind him and i stayed on his ass the whole way. we got up to about 130 and he decided to slow down. i was impressed with the little cobalt. i thought he would kill me but he only stayed about 2-3 car lengths ahead of me. we got on the service road and the dude actually gave me a thumbs up and mouthed holy sh*t at me. off the line he would've smoked my ass but on top end my car actually stayed with him pretty good, impressive.

thats the difference between GM and Ford ****. he had mutual respect for my car but if you take a mustang or cobra dude he would be talking sh*t all day long.

much respect for the ZO6 though, im sure it was a early 2000's model or maybe a 99. Glad it wasnt a 2006 ZO6, then i wouldnt of took him even in a viper haha.

yeah i would definitely have to agree with got boost cuz their is no way in frickin heck you could have remotely keep up with him. i know yall started at like 60 so not exactly like quarter mile times but them things run 12s if im correct and cobalts run what.... an extremely low 14 if your tofu lol. so yeah he should have cremated you so bad that he took what was left to the morgue for ya. not dissin on the cobalt cuz i would get smoked by one in the dang wanna be sports car of mine but ya definitely understand how that respect thing works and definitely with the ford thing cuz i took kept up with an older GT stang in this GT gran am and he was cursin up a storm in that stupid ford.

14.5 is a very respectable time (and a generous average) ...given a rough estimate of .1 sec in a 1/4 mile race is a car length ...would mean that the c5 z06 was running a 14.1 -14.3 (not very believable) but this wasn't a 1/4 mile race ..It was even more in the c5 z06's arena ... a high speed roll race ..There is just no way ..I'm sorry you thought he was racing I dont think anyone should be discussing the plausability of this ...it just was a case of mistaken racing

think of it this way ...you started at 50-60 and he pulled the 3 car lengths and then you claim he never moves ...so lets assume he got 3 car lengths by 70mph , we can conclude that from a 70mph- 130 race the cobalt would be even with a c5 z06 Vette .. feel free to laugh at what you posted like the rest of us are you could also edit the story to save some embarrassment.

The only way that we could possibly, I think still unlikely, is to draft off the Vette at those speeds. I'm sure he eased up after he pulled the 3 lengths. Nice that he was respectful though. Nice thing about Corvette owners is that all the ones I have met have been really chill.

He never once leads into the idea that he should've beaten him. He makes no arrogant pompass remarks about how the ZO6 was WOT giving all it was worth. This is a guy that has much respect for the world of V8's coming from the LS1/2 engines prior to the Cobalt. You guys are reading into this too much. He is not claiming the SS/SC an unstoppable force, but merely that he was impressed with the performance. You guys can't tell me that you wouldn't have had a good time running 100+ with a vette and get a little excited. All be it that you would know where you truly stand in the rankings. There is no need for sandbagging.
