So I found out...
4th gear tops out at 140 something...its a good way to tell if your clutch slips or not cause 4th gears is on a 1:1 ratio..speed will match your rpms so whatever your redline is in 4th the speed would be in the same spot....
I hope you think you are cool for doing 120 in a highly congested area on the highway.
Hope you don't do that again.
I would hate to see a fellow CSS.net member die.
you are an ass arnt you?

I was on the highway with my girlfriend while a civic challenged me. I told her it would be like beating up a two year old, but i wanted a reason to go fast for a bit so I bent him over in third gear then waxed it in fourth.
No, I dont think I am "Cool" for racing in highly congested traffic.
No I probably wont do it again.
And I too would hate to see myself die.
I have heard this all before brother. Its nothing new. But like almost anyone my age I think I am invicible. I'm just excited to finally have a nice new car that can tear **** up and I want to see what it can do. Only track I know of is in Royce City (is that how you spell it?) and it is only 1/4 mile. If there was something NASCAR style where I can go faster for a longer period of time I would go.

Haha, I might be an ass, but at least I can spell.
And for the dude that does 120, I'm glad you realize that.

thats not being an ass.
thats the truth.
Im glad your at least smart enough to realise it wasnt a smart thing to do.
Go to your local track, thats where you should do your racing.

Thanks rob for trying to light'n up the mood. Some folks have to be idiots and try to tell a complete stranger what to do with there life. I for one don't see a problem with racing in traffic as long as you're able to face the possible consequences.

Ok we all know driving fast is a rush.
but whenever accidents happen and or people get pulled over doing this sort of thing it actually impacts all of us.
1. It could mean something bad for someone in the community. Nobody likes that. Even if it was somewhat deserved.
2. It can mean over the long run an increase in insurance costs for the rest of us driving cobolt SS/SC's. Sure some of that is inherint in the car itself but you see what I am saying I hope. Your actions impact everyone else. Even those on this forum.
3. And driving 120 in traffic while you yourself or even the person you are having fun with is perfectly safe. You create unsafe conditions for everyone else that shares the road. Panicked driving manuvers and whatnot. So try and think about that next time.
I understand the want to drive fast and have a little fun on the roadways. I have been guilty of it to some extent. Heck commuting to work I generally go 20 over the speedlimit but I drive in light traffic and don't cut back and fourth to do it. (Tollway I love you!)
This means speeds generally ranging from 70 to 90... fastest I followed soneone on the tollway without zigzagging through traffic was 115. So yes I have sped through the streets. But keeping it safe and sane is very important in those circumstances.
Not to mention doing that on non race roads is bad for your car. the sudden dips and whatnot are more impactful than you realize. And at those speeds your poor suspension is dug in and not ready for a solid bump like that at speeds.
Just some things to keep in mind. It's good for you and good for us.
But still.. nice kill! lol.
