A Summer Texas Meet
I think we should get all the AMERICAN Tuners together somewhere central to MOST of us. It would sometime in the summer so we would have PLENTY of time to plan. Thinking about Waco or maybe a little north of Waco. If this is something that anyone would want to do please respond. I know Japeater said he would be down for a Texas meet. Also we would need someone from wherever we meet to corridinate with the police to make we could do this legally. Dont want anyone getting tickets or impounded. Plus by this summer I should have my exhaust at least put on so the car wont look to crappy, lol. We need to show Texas that these ricers cant hang with real people like us.
im down, austin is pretty far though, about 3 hours... waco is about an hour and a half from me and japeatr and the other guys in our crew. IMO waco isnt that much fun though and the cops are ******. this might have to be an overnight thing for some people, not sure though. it would be cool to do some hangout stuff during the day, maybe some food and then cruise/race that night.

Waco is the most central for MOST people... Sorry if it is 4 for you but why should Austin/Dallas people have to go the extra distance so Houston'ers can drive less? Waco is my vote, second vote = Austin. Houston = I won't come =\
modern performance would be cool, but im goin to need advance notice and im prolly busy until like early august(used up all my vacation)\
i agree that waco is a much easier drive only 100+ miles from me
however working 60 hour weeks plus college is tough especialy w/ summer school and ASE hybrid vehicle training the weekends in July
but organization is key and i believe a cool meet could be had from the Texas cobalt community
unfortunatly the last BIG tx meet that SRT man and them showed up for was smaller for the hype it got
if it is a central/north texas meet that could change things, someone get creative and call vendors and local tuning shops, see if any would accommadate a large number of cobalts for gathering, i know of several local detail, body shops, tuners, resturants that host meets and carshows
and a definative date that is decent for sure!

i would vote waco as well although i dont mind driving a few hours if it ends up being somewhere else. just do it on the weekend and do it in the middle of a month.
Ok, just putting this one out there. July 22nd, we meet for lunch at Smokey Bones restaurant =
Smokey Bones
4719 S. Jack Kautgen Expressway

After lunch, this is where any Waco people with input would help, we need to decide what to do. One suggestion I would give is a car show, but all the car shows are in Austin that weekend. I believe Austin is about an hour and fifteen minutes south of Waco, so to appease everyone, my idea is a cruise to Austin to visit one of these car shows =
Texas Heat Wave 2006
July 21st - 23rd, 2006, Travis Expo Center, Austin, TX
Then, after the show, one more time for a quick bite to eat then everyone could head home/stay over night if they so wished.
This is just a quick idea I came up with here at work, so give me input, and lets vote if we wanna change dates, meeting places, or anything. LETS GO TEXAS!
