Texas Random Thread V1.0
Nottoo quick to pick up on sarcasm are y'all?
I was making a statement about how everyone is making threads about street racing now. And it bothers me.
It used to be when someone posted about that they'd be called an idiot and told to take it to the track by every member.
Now it's praise and "Oh wow nice job. Way to dodge that minivan!"

well his thought was that it would increase sells... people like me are going to get pissed off if it does happen and not buy a GM car...ill buy that damn bike ive been wanting
I'll understand his point. But I won't be happy about it. I'd rather have a mileage tax honestly, though.
it shouldnt do a thing to gm sales since he has no power to raise the gas prices. the editor of motortrend suggested a 1$ per gallon tax on gas back in 02 to pay for the wars and i thought it was absurd. but as i got older and wiser i realized it would have been a good idea and we would be in much better shape now. it wont increase sales, will just redistribute sales and soccer moms wont buy suburbans to take 1 kid to practice. hopefully more motorcycles on the road too. and im an anarchist not a democrat. no group of ******** needs to tell me what to do. higher gas tax is a mileage tax.

i would end up buying a bike. keeping my 3 as its get s good gas mileage but a bike would be better
or they could just stop making v8s

not really a v8 problem. its a acceleration problem. even on the bike i get taken at stoplights by people in cars. im just never in a big hurry. especially to go to work. if cars could shrink to the size they were and get smaller v8s back into them that spin high it would be great. i miss the 289 in my 65 spinning to 9k
Um... No?
Figures:
100,000 miles @ 30 mpg = $3,333.33 for a $1.00 gas tax.
100,000 miles @ 10 mpg = $10,000 for a $1.00 gas tax.
100,000 miles @ 30 mpg = $5,000 for a $.05 per mile tax.
100,000 miles @ 10 mpg = $5,000 for a $.05 per mile tax.
With a gas tax:
If I own a truck I want to have a tax that is fair compared to the Prius driving next to me. He goes the same distance, but pays a lower tax because he gets a better mileage than I do.
With a mileage tax:
That Prius is paying the same tax I am for that mile we just drove together.

Or our 35' camper/flatbed?
I actually need a truck as compared to those that do not.
That is why I had both. My car and my truck. Car for commuting, truck for work/play.
Sadly, mother nature took out the truck...

in other news my car is all together now except for the downpipe. It was made for a standard lsj and I'm an auto le5. So I gotta push the car down the street to get it bent to fit.
