ok guys I have a cracked number 4 piston. I am going to be upgrading to forged pistons. I called the stealership just to get a quote on labor as I have never done any work on the block. They stated that it would cost 1900 bucks plus parts. Honestly this is not something I am willing to pay.
They are telling me the block needs to come out for this, I know as a fact people out of their own garage w/ out taking the block out.
So my question does anyone know of a good shop that would install the forged pistons without bending me over in the cornhole. Or even just install the one #4 that is busted w/ an OEM replacement piston.
And if this can't happen, I am calling you guys out. I am willing to give someone a pioneer in dash dvd/nav/bluetooth w/ mic and din kit with all wiring and GM steering wheel controls. I will even install it for someone to do the work for me or help me out in my garage. Let me know guys thanks. This is my DD so I am pretty much screwed.

If you are going to try this yourself... make sure you have everything you need. Pistons, rings, get your block machined and rehoned. PM fast98 or LSJwannabe Josh and Sean can hook you up with everything you need.
As far as droping the block out of the car... you have to disconnect the bottom cradle and lift the body of the car up and you can get the motor out from the bottom.
You can PM ralliartist about that he did it just a few months ago.
I think by your post you are getting a little over your head in doing it yourself... I really am I don't want to see another motor go because of an improper build.
And honestly 1900 for a complete rebuild of your motor isn't bad... but you can always try national speed or any speed shop and see what they would charge...
but your going to need more than just pistons.

Unfortunately no, the only cobalt guy I know of around you is Andrew(deatheater), he has a silver basemodel. When DropJaw Wintercruize comes around there will probably be about 10-15 doing the show circuit there though(or atleast there was last year).
