help me please

My buddy has a 99 dodge neon, he went to do a compression check. He put everything back together the same way it came off. Now when he turns the key the car wont start. If the key is on acc or on the radio and dash lights come on. What can it be?

do you hear it trying to turn over? Starter would be one of the first things I'd think about.

no, thats what i was thinking to. I was leaning toward the battery being about dead also. he says it just clicks. Not a dead battery click. it clicks once.

double and triple check everything that was taken apart. Particularly spark plug wires.

Edit: You said it clicks once... Doesn't sound like the starter is cranking.

Yeah man if everything is getting good power but the starter only makes a click noise... probably a bad starter.
