Jeebus... Even as a fellow 2.2 owner, I have to say that you might as well have bought the SS/SC!

haha yea i agree, you should just take that money and invest in a ss/sc. better suspension, better interior, engine has tuning already.

oh and btw if your planning a turbo kit, the cold air intake wont work. One guy on here X50cobaltx or something like that built his engine with forged internals, and he spend about 5900 on parts and labor

btw since you have an 07, you have no tuning until hp tuners releases the 07 2.2 update (05-06 has different ecm)

Yep, you wont be able to use your Injen with your turbo setup. You can just send my the money you saved on the intake.

thanks for the advice so for keep it comin please and im doin thins cause nobody has taken it this far with a ls yet. i wont be able to turbo it till next year anyway so everything should be able to fall right into place by then. 5900 aint to bad for a motor forge. why cant i use the cai wit the turbo. money aint really a big thing to me either cause im already payin for some custom cv axels for the car

NOBODY said you didn't know anything, but if it's what he wants to do whats the big deal. It's not like he's coming on here acting like a dick saying his car will the best.

ok? want a cookie, dudes maybe he got the car for free, if i got a car for free and i had a cars worth of money and i wanted a fast car, what do u think id do, mod the **** out of it.

i got a base model G5, i stuck about 3 grand into it so far, was i retarded cuz i like looks and handling more then i like speed at the moment? no because i race professionally and my car is made to what i like.

your just being an ******* lol, and guess what, srt-4's have more potential then your car, and sti's have more potential then that, and evo's have more potential then that, and vipers have more potential then that, Oh yea and ferrari's have more potential then that. your using stupid/smart logic but your going about it all wrong

Let him mod all he wants! Is there some kind of law against modding a 2.2!!! It sure seems like there is from some of these posts!

ok first off im the one who started this thread and i appreaciate all of you who are on my side in my decision to build a beast. second off to address the speed issue i can gaurantee that with the amount of money and work i will be puttin into this car that 13's will be easy 12's or better a reality. this car is going to be at nopi nats next year going for best in class and best in show. im gonna post pics on here continually of the work that is going to be done to it over the next year. from the motor forge to custom drive train components to the 4g paint job im going to put on it so for all the haters out there keep talkin and keep watching and when you see the end result of a cobalt ls 2.2 dyno tuned and puttin down 400 + to the wheels with the dyno slip to prove it pick up your jaws and stop droolin and to all those who have supported and defended me on this post i appreciate and keep up the advise and support by the way im also a soilder in the us army holla.

Almost every mod he listed would be a mod he would have to do to the LSJ also. So I dont see why starting with a LS for less money and build the 2.2 is such a problem. The onyl mods he mentioned that wouldnt need to be done in a LSJ is the forged internals but even then he might have to change them depending on what kinda compression he wants to run depending on turbo size and his valve train setup. Also if you start with a base block and build it up mod for mod the 2.2 is capable of putting out as much and more power then the 2.0. So most of your argument is null in this case. Also if he puts all teh parts into this car hes talking about then gets the turbo setup just right and tuned properly thats easily an 11 second car not a 13 second car. Hell the j bodys running like 12psi around here are pushing low low 11's almost high 10's with the setup hes talking about.
