Yall got any ideas on this?

Ok before I got my new headunit I was running factory with line converter for aftermarket subs and it sounded good. But now after putting the aftermarket headunit in I can't even turn the volume up enough to hear the aftermarket subs. Is this due to the factory amp that is in the car or something else? This isn't the first time I have install an aftermarket HU but it is as far as into a car with a factory amp in it.

 

i gotta see a parts list.. including prices (you paid, not retail)

So inless your trapping in the 1/4 along the lines of 130. You wouldnt run me down in the 1/4.

The video of me dragging in the sand is fooling to the untrained eye. It takes alot of power to get down the track that fast.

Richard, the stock amp is by-passed when you install an aftermarket head unit. However, there is one wire that you can hook up that will make it work again. Kevin should be chiming in before too long, he can tell you which wire. He fixed mine for me.

well the HU is a pioneer premier deh-p980bt. i can't even turn the volume past half way. at half volume it is louder than factory.

He's a pretty smart guy when it comes to audio systems. I've never heard of overloading the factory amp. If you still have the line-out converter hooked up then I would get rid of it all together. Hook it up right by getting an amp kit and running all of the wires to the subs and amp. If you still want the factory sub to beat, find that blue wire and hook it up accordingly. I'll get Kevin to get on and tell you which one it is.

lol yes aarons yfz is ****** fast... i've rode it and can def vouch for it.

richard the wire you lookin for is a pink one thats on the factory harness. hook it to the blue wire comin outta the AF head unit which should say remote wire. and yes get rid of the converter box and run a set of rca's to the AF amp and subs. you'll get way better sound outta them.
