Well... most people around here just find someone to pay for inspection and say to hell with it. I see people riding around all the time with mirror tint, white tail lights... all kinda illegal crap.

As long as you've got a catalytic converter on... you'll pass emissions. That's really what they check for. It can be as loud as you want... never heard of anyone in state getting a ticket for a loud exhaust.

Heck... MrPhoto's wife took his car in for him... and the tech passed it right off... blue turn-signal bulbs and everything. It all depends on whom you go to... and there are plenty of shops willing to write you off.

Pretty decent here although I have heard of some people getting nabbed. Last time I went to get a car tinted I tried to get alittle darker that legal and the dude kept saying I was better off w/ legal. I told him they did all my tint jobs prior to this one and a couple were dark and he said he was getting many customers back yelling they could pass inspection so I finally gave in and got legal alround. Not this time though, just my 2 drs are getting 35%.

I've never had a problem in NC with tint or emissions. I've gone as dark as 5% with no problems from cops or inspections. Inspections was all about who you could talk into checking the car without checking the tint. Or at least checking the tint but writing it as something completely different.

Same thing with emissions and lights. I've gone completely clear lenses and even blue lights with no problems.

For emissions, I've gotten a shop to scan my VIN in for inspection but check the emissions on a completely different car. (Car was definitely not legal and shop knew it)
