Alright guys... here's the deal. The DSLSJA had 10 cars at HIN Charlotte... we were a huge hit with the public. Had a lot of folks asking questions about the cars and the club... and we met several SS and IRL owners who were interested in the group.

The biggest thing of the night was that we spent about an hour talking with a rep. from GM Tuner Source. He was very impressed with the cars... and said that out of all the shows that he had been to we had the biggest group of Cobalts/Ions he'd ever seen.

So what it comes down to is this... the GM Tuner Source rep. said that right now GM is on the fence about whether or not to sponsor the NOPI show at Atlanta in September. If we can get a large enough group (like 30-40) that are committed to going to NOPI Atlanta GM will consider sponsoring the cars by paying our entry fee and possibly putting us in their VIP area to showcase what GM tuner cars can do.

This event is open to any Cobalt/Ion... not just the SS/SC or RL models. So if you are interested in making an appearance at a big time show post up and let me know.

The dates for NOPI Atlanta are Sept. 17th and 18th.

some of the florida guys will be at nopi but we will be in the club section STC (saturn tuners club). i think theres gonna be 7-10 of us coming

i've already payed cobalt sponsored nopi already and cobalt get's nopi vip passes if you enter

 

i was there last year. There was 13 SS/SC's there. But there dumb. They had all cobalts in the same class. We all got beat out by a 2.2L with airbags. If they want to have our car as the sponsored car. Recognize us.

But i will definately be there.

 

im going, hin was way too fun last night. we need another big group to get there. oh, i drive a 2.2 and im in for the win so dont be offended if i pull it off. no offense.

 

Well i think its crazy for a 2.2 and a 2.0 to be in the same class. But if they have it that way then its up for grabs i guess.

 

Plan to go here, might be one day though. But i took my trailblazer ss last year plan to take the cobalt this year even if its for a day.

I've got a feeling that some of us will go Spyder... we need to decide soon though... look at getting a hotel room.

i, too, will soon be JL audio sound powered. What do you have? I'm getting 2 12" JL audio subs in a JL audio custom box, with a 1200 watt amp``

thats why cobalts are slower than redlines you guys have so much audio stuff in the back you cant move. =)

 

yea, im a 2.2 so there is no need for me to be fast.

 

ill talk to the rep this weekend at HIN NY and see if this is for certain. if so, i may be in and see if they can get me into the GM Tuner Source booth.
