No joke. Found stripped in Miramar somewhere. No motor/trans, missing most of the front end, seats, wheels, etc. Insurance totalled it. Still waiting on a settlement from them.

I'm saving the spare engine until I know for sure that I can't get the car back. Once its settled, and I don't buy the car back from the auction, then I can sell the core block. Right now, its the only LSJ I have, even though it needs pistons. I am supposed to have it all settled by the end of January.

Sup everyone im new on here. Just got 06 SS/SC and would like to go to the next meetng after the one happening tomorrow (cant make it Got school) just to introduce myself, hang out, track or w/e.

I also wanna know if you guys know good people or shops that know how to tune the SS/SC around here cause most places i go to say i need a custom ecu,or it can't be done/Dont know how and i know of course you can (with HPtuners for example i just dont know how).

Joe whats the difference between the supertech and the ferrea valve springs? whats the point of 1mm oversize valves? and the gomet head gasket and arp studs . Im a noob when it comes to head work.

The supertech springs have seat locators that are designed to work in a stock head. Technically the Ferra ones should be used on a head with custom machining of the seats, but some people use them anyway without problems. Get the Supertechs.

Oversize valves allow more airflow, but the head needs to be cut to really see the gains. In these cars, I don't think the bigger valves themselves are necessary, along with the fact that the stock valves are very high quality anyway. Head gasket is up to you. Stock gasket is just like the Cometic one, they look identical. Cometic is slightly thinner I believe, but I don't have specs on the stocker so I can't say. Supposedly the Cometic is more precision cut, but in reality it won't make a difference. ARP studs are alwasy nice, helps to maintain a good clamp on the headgasket. The stock bolts are TTY anyway, so they have to be replaced regardless. Might as well upgrade while you are in there.

my duty cycle is 72-74% at 7200 rpm

im sittin like 78-80% with my 2.8 and seeing like 1.70 g/cyl. maybe my scanner isnt right
