Hey guys I need help my cobalt sc is over boosting for some reason now and has no power at all. What could it be and how can I fix it. I was reading that the timing chain could have skipped and that's why i have no power and some one said that it could be my crank sensor trowing my timing off. What are the signs of a stretched timing chain? Right now my car has no power and is over boosting. idles fine and not over heating HELP!!!

 

Overboosting is blocked exhaust. Do you still have a cat?

Cat x4. Get an aftermarket one or bust out the cat and put it back in. U will get a heck engine light for bad cat but it won't effect your car in a negative way besides maybe a slightly louder exhaust notebut nothing noticeable to the average person.

 

alright guys I think I fu3ked this one up. so i just read all your comments and they all sound right. last week i put my stock dp with the cat back in because i had bought a zzp 3in castles dp and it was getting anyoing. so today before i read this i went ahead and pulled my timing chain off thinking it had stretched and skipped a tooth. so now im just going too put on a new chain and a new tensioner just to be safe bc the car has over 132000 mi on it. does anz one know if i can put it all back together with out seeing the crankshaft

 

I think #1 has to be at tdc then the chain has colored links that line up with marks on the cam gears

 

It's not worth the risk. Pull the timing cover off to make sure everything is lined up

timing cover isn't a big deal on these cars, i've re-timed a motor on the floor in about two hours.
