Watch it on the highways in NC

State troopers have started the annual catch-the-speeder-fest. Running all this week in NC from what I heard. All major highways, four laners, etc. Marked, motorcycles, camaros, and UNMARKED vehicles are being used. Speeding, aggro driving, etc. are the targets. Just thought Iwould share the warning I heard on news radio today.

Yeah I heard this on the news too. It's great every time they do one of these I always know because the media just has to report it.

Just hope they don't do to you guys what they do to us up in PA on the major holiday weekends.......they go out into the trees along side the road in cammo, shoot radar where you can't even see them. By the time you DO see the marked or unmarked chase car, it's too late since their buddy 1/4 mile back already shot you and radio'd ahead. it sucks!

Thanks for the info... luckily most of my driving during the week is in-city... but I'll keep my eyes peeled.

The latest unmarked cars I've seen are new 2006 impala LTs... the kind with the dual exhaust... silver... the giveaway is the "state owned" license place.

There's a Mercury Marauder cruising around here... and a Charger R/T.... and a few SUV's....

Ridiculous is a word that comes to mind.

I went to the beach yesterday, and I counted 5 stopped troopers between Cary and the 70/40 split, then one was in front of me in an unmarked when some girl sped by on my left and there he went!!

Yea, they were doing this on Hwy 601 last week cause I was checking ahead cause I was going to the beach for a concert and the day before I left was when they were nabbing everyone. I never really go over 4-5 mph over anymore anyway. On the way back from the beach though I had one cop sitting in the grass facing the oncoming traffic and I was doing 55 in a 45(got lost and did not see the sign), next thing I knew I saw his lights go up and I was like "oh crap" and waited but he just flashed to get my attention, good thing too, got me back on route lol.
