Arizona sightings thread
I've still been out doing a lot of tuning. Mostly away from these forums. Still a lot of cobalts out there that have no clue about these forums but somehow still find me for tuning.
If you guys still need anything be sure to let me know. I've been super busy outside of tuning with my day job and with the National Guard. Plus I'm in the middle of moving into a house etc.

Too many Tylers to keep track of... :-)
Great runs guys. 13.4! Wow. I know if there was a corner or two placed in there 4-door Tyler would still haul a$$! He's a really good autocrosser. BTW Tyler, what mods are you running now?
Also, have you guys ever popped a shift cable off?
I was heading to work a week ago and when I NLS'd into 3rd, REVVVVVVVVV.... Nothing. I thought I'd missed the gear but realized my shifter was completly limp. (Insert bad joke here) The cable had snapped or broken.
So, I had it towed to Power Chevy FREE, (where I bought it) and ended up getting a base model cobalt as a rental.
They ordered the cable overnight from Michigan but they didn't realize until the cable arrived that it didn't come with a new 'ball' end. That's a separate part. Now I'm waiting for THAT part to come from Michigan.
I've been driving 'stick' since I was about 10yrs old. (Lived on a farm) Never ONCE have I broken a shift cable or linkage. There's no doubt I've been more abusive to many of the other vehicles I've owned.
All this makes me wonder if something wasn't put together wrong in the 1st place. 4-door Tyler let me run his car through the gears after one of our autocrosses and it felt almost 'loose' compared to mine. 3rd gear has always been especially tight or more difficult to get in gear when I shift fast. I am interested to see if anyone else has slight issues w/3rd gear?
I hope to someday make it to one of the 'meets' you guys put together.
Later,
Buzz

Hey John,
Actually I had something similar happen to mine. I NLS'd from 2nd to 3rd and my shifter went limp. It was the little plastic piece under the shifter that connects the shifter to the shift linkage cable. It's about a $.79 plastic part but you have to buy the entire shifter assembly to get it, thus, chevy charges $500. Thank god for warranty. The prevailing thought is that chevy didn't build that plastic bit strong enough to withstand a hard NLS, which puts too much strain on it. SSFamilyWagon has a friend that did something to his to make sure that would never happen again, though I'm not sure what.
This thread should give you some insight as to what went wrong with my car, as I'm guessing that is also what happened to yours...

Glad to hear that your warranty is in effect!
