Like you'd drive halfway across the planet to get to Speedworld anyway.

Yeah really! I'd prolly run out of gas on the way there!

Ok, Mr. 40 highway miles per gallon!

Bah, I'll make it out to Speedworld one of these days. I see gas prices have dropped pretty dramatically the past month...

yeah no doubt it dropped what nearly 18 cents in 2 weeks? crazy though it always does that during this time of the year. I have been itching to go to speedworld and I want to do it soon

Gas prices, I just put 101 unleaded in for $5.99 a gallon but WOOO HOOOOO!!! That high octane timing curve is NUTS!

Because when I got tuned steve said there was a high octane tune on there, so I wanted to see how the high octane tune was. Its freakin awesome!!!

I would have to agree with Cameron. It makes a BIG difference when you are tuned for the higher octane. When David put some in when we had an empty tank it was freaking ridiculously fast! It was awesome! It was WAY different in feel at idle also.

Just put the gas in and the computer does the rest. It has something to do with the computer sensing a certain octane or higher to engage the high octane timing curve.

is this done by default? I would have to say it is because if the computer advances timing for higher octanes it would have to do the oposite for lower octanes ... which it does by default if I am not mistaken.

I thought it just pulled the timing when it sensed knock. Higher octane = less/no knock = more timing.

No, in HP Tuners, there was a low octane timing menu and a high octane timing menu. Yes it will add timing when it doesn't sense knock, but it will only add so much timing until the computer limits it, thus limiting potential. Steve just bumped up the amount of timing it will add in the high octane curve. I think he added like 6 or 8 degrees in the high octane curve and 2 in the low curve.

hmmmmm how are you confirming the changes? are you doing a dyno multiple times or does hptuners have a special thingy that lets you see if the changes aren't messing things up?

I can tell by a little thing called... a butt dyno. If you can feel the power in your butt then there it definatly some more power there.

I never trust the butt dyno ... could just be gas ... should get that checked by a doctor
