Look hear meet this Saturday
Wow dude Im so sorry that happened to you.
If I ever caught the person responsible for such a thing I can not say what I would do to that person. They most likely would not live to see the next day... Jesus

Wow that sucks...
I was also planning on making it but a buddy of mine that auto crosses talked me into coming out there and giving it a shot. I had to be there 5:30 Sunday morning so I wasn't going to stay out late.
It was worth it. I ended up 2nd place in Novice and 36th out of 100 or so drivers. There were only a few other cobalts but they had some mods. I was still fastest Cobalt w/my box stock Sedan.
Fun stuff, you guys should try it. it's only $40 bucks. It beats the hell out of just running 1320 feet.

A car, a helmet, $40 dollars and shoes that aren't open-toe.
I arrived at about 05:30am.
Setup my 'pits'
Walked around a bit
Tech inspection was about 7am
If you're going to record it you have to have a strap on your camera that straps it to something other than the camera mount. (That's the only thing I needed to go back to tech for)
Then I went and did a course walk with one of the instructors.
Then I went back to pits, had a snack and aired up my tires.
Then it was back out to 'work' my stint as a corner worker. (There are 4 groups of cars, about 30 in each and during one of the groups that you're not driving, you need to watch the course and pickup/call-out fallen cones.
The 4 groups were, A,B,C,D. I worked A and drove C.
So after I worked A, I went back and double checked tire pressure, emptied everything from my car that wasn't necessary, spare tire, all the crap in the glove box, radar detector etc...
Then I drove it over to the pre-stage area and watched the B group finish.
Then they called us (The C group) in, we did our parade lap and lined up in our assigned locations. (Given out during registration...I was C24, or the 24th car in C group)
The 1st run I had to have an instructor go with me since I was novice. He said I did very well and I was on my own for the last 3 runs.
As you finish each run, you go back to your 'spot' in line and wait for someone to waive you on to start your next one.
The "Run" is driving up to the front of the line. There is a guy there that will tell you where to stop. Once the car before you has cleared out by about 20 seconds or so, the'll say.."The course is yours" and when you're ready... GO FOR IT.
It's the most fun I've had in 20 years.

Laps were as follows:
80.561 (with 200 pound instructor)
78.508 (1st run solo)
75.680
75.311 On this run I totally blew a 2 corner combo by not braking early enough.
However, all of my runs were "clean" (no cones hit, no penalties) so they said not bad for my 1st day as a Novice. It was incredibly fun as I mentioned before.
The SCCA uses this system called the "PAX" system. It basically then handicaps your time based on your car and any mods you have. My car is in the DS (D-Stock) class so it was handicapped accordingly. After all was said and done using the pax system I was 37th overall and 2nd in Novice.
The next event is October 11th. www.azsolo.com for more details.
