I also raced a blue WRX on 35th and Cactus until the police station there on 39th. No traffic and it looked safe enough to open it up a little. We were even until 3rd and I pulled about 1 car on him...we both shut down since we knew there was a good chance of seeing a police officer.
What do you have in your car as far as mods SrtizzleFo?

Uhhh no. Never heard of that site, and you should know better, that I'm not a lying ricer. C'mon now man, don't insult me
. And why would my screen name have anything to do with having SRT in it? lol..Anyways, I think i will join this site now, though. Cool there's a local site.
No, I mean did you race one of these guys? Both seem to have raced a Red Cobalt:
SrtizzleFo drives a Silver SRT-4 and SRTinAZ35 drives a Black SRT-4 (currently w/ paper tags).

Besides if PhxSS and I take everything to PM's, who's gonna post on the South West forum
yes, very true lol. It;s usually me or you that starts threads or replies to posts here first, then everyone else follows. BTW, where exactly is Metal Man Fab at? is it actually on 7th st and 101? I tried calling a few times with no answer. Just wanna know exactly where he's at. Now i don't know if I want an intake or a custom 4-2-1 header made.
Ah, yea. Usually you need to leave a message. Realize that he's a one man shop that works out of the garage on his house. Alot of times he may be in the middle of a weld or grinding and is either unable to stop or unable to hear the phone.
He's in the subdivision that is just South of the 101 between 7th street and 16th street.
If you want a header done, the place to go is S&S Headers in Glendale (Just North of Bethany Home on 53rd Drive, which is a couple streets west of 51st Ave).

Nothing against MetalMan's work, as he does excelent work. It's just that the guy doing custom header work at S&S (I believe his name is Loren?) has been doing it for years and knows more about header design and how it affects the torque curve than most people know about tying shoe laces. He built the header for my race car:

There'd be no difference in quality between S&S and MetalMan. It's just that MetalMan would build you what you ask for, whereas Loren would talk to you about diameter, length, step-tubes, merges, tri-Y's and most likely change your mind about what you think you want
In the end you'll end up with a quality header that performs as well as it looks.
BTW, the cost for a Custom S&S header was (it may have changed) $105 per tube + options (flange, merge, jet hot coating, etc...) The one pictured above ran me about $550, it is a Step-Tube design w/ a Tri-Y (also called 4-2-1) collector and Jet hot coated.
Also if you could get enough (probably 10-20) people to go in on a Group Buy, he would use your car to make a Jig and the headers would no longer be a pure custom job, but more of an "off the shelf" header which would lower the cost. Something you can talk to him about.

That header is ******* sick, man! That's what I'm looking for. A 4-2-1. I don't need the fancy chrome though. jet coated, and painted black probably for me. Problem is, is that i would then have to have a custom cat-back made to go with it, cuz the header would be too long.
That's not Chrome, that's the Sterling Jet Hot Coating... that's just what the Jet Hot coating looks like. And I don't think you wouldn't want to paint on top of the Jet Hot, probably kills some of the heat reducing properties of it.
Simple solution. Get the header done, then drive it over to Metal Man
Edit: Also that header isn't as "Chrome looking" in person.

Yea, I realized that after I typed it, but I was too lazy to change it. I mean I think i would just have my header coated with ceramic, then paint it black. Do you know anyone with a black SRT with chrome 17's that works on the base?
BTW, I hear it's supposed to be nice this weekend (hint hint)
