So i am going to Cali for about a 2 weeks once i return from my deployment 
in july! What should i do? Already doing the Disney thing with the family and catching the padres/dodgers in san diego, what else is there to do?

Disney is offering a 5 day vacation package for Soldiers, there may be information on military.com

just doesnt compare to whataburger 
it has converted many lost souls (in and out eaters) to the new righteous path of whataburger 
for the record in and out does have some bomb ass shakes
also check out universal studious ,midevil times, ripleys believe it or not and dont let the wax museum across the street fool you, even though the lights are on and sparkling they are out of buisness and have been for some time.

I had that on the way to Cali, then got some In and Out Burger when I got here to make me forget whataburger. ALso, to the OP, scratch downtown LA, it's full of bums and there's nothing to do.
