Melon 05-23-2013 10:22 PM

Sweet!

thedubsack85 05-23-2013 10:32 PM

Call me crazy but cant you just turn off the codes that are tripping the CEL and hope it passes the visual and emission? And its illegal to remove any CAT that isnt damaged on any car unless it was produced without one as far as i remember! Some states dont test for them so it's easy to remove as no emission/visual but still illegal! I could be semi-mistaken!

cant turn off codes or reset. it will detect it.

Tjolley 05-23-2013 10:51 PM

Well then ive herd of people getting away with just a code deletion. but that maybe where it's just a function check not a full emissions/visual. I did freak out with my ranger cause it had EGR codes due to a fuel pressure sensor! But was a simple fix Like im sure dialing in his tune is! ;)

c0de7477 05-24-2013 03:18 AM

sub'd. im in socal as well. melon if you find somewhere close let me know. I'm not due for new emissions for a while but itd be nice to know.

Melon 05-24-2013 03:26 AM

Ill keep u updated. Hoping tune will fix it tho and won't need to go expensive route

visual-headers, cat, supercharger pulley, zzp s3 heat exchanger, injectors. all of these are a fail

Most high flow cats fail the sniffer test. CEL light will fail and if you clear the code you will still fail.

With the new STAR program clean pipes are getting hard to find and costing more cash.

Good luck.

I thought i heard something about California going to a new style of emissions testing on newer vehicles where they just do a visual inspection and then make sure all the readiness monitors pass with an obd2 scan? anyone else heard this?

yes sir, sometime next year or maybe later this year. MOST cars 2000 and newer. 1999 and older same test we do now.

Beck 06-01-2013 05:54 PM

tylerjclance 06-01-2013 10:31 PM

Cherry GT 06-04-2013 09:11 PM

Emissions suck, lol

I heard the EPA was talking of making all new cars, CARB cars by 2017 !

No more California emissions, we'd all be that way :(

Melon 06-04-2013 09:48 PM

Boo. Stupid epa. Lol. Wut I don't get is I can barely mod my car but these diesel trucks can put stacks on and just spew out black clouds of smoke. Yea I'm doin more damage than that is....
