Question Help

So I have a Ottp stage 1 kit sitting in my room. I haven't worked on the balt in a long time. I was thinking of putting the kit on this weekend and getting a tune. Anybody around SoCal do them?
But now I was thinking of ordering me a catback setup. I seen a set up on the site mandrelexhaustsystems.com. anyone hear any good things about it?
Which one whould I go about doing first? Any suggestions? Let me know, your opinion is much appreciated.

Yeah, but i bought the kit off some guy from the site, he was just selling the pulley, oversized tensioner pulley, 42lb injectors, and harness. So im looking for someone to give me a good tune now..
Or thinking of getting a cat back before i put the kit.

Where do you live in so cal? I can load trifecta or HP tunes on your ECU for you. I'm only asking cuz Fernando might be closer and he can do trifecta for you.

i dont think it makes a bigg difference. with exhaust and tune.

as far as exhaust. best ive heard is GMPP touring. Corsa sport or or corsa touring.

I had a 3in custom flowmaster that sounded good.

but ya go with a custom tune either form vince from HP tuners or a tuner on this website for HPtuners

Flowmaster? Did it really give you a good sound? Cuz I have a local shop here that can do a custom catback with flowmaster or magnaflow.

Bakersfield is a little far from me... I am down by San Diego...

Hit up Fernando or maybe someone else is closer. The Catback wont matter too much as far as a tune goes. At least it doesn't really on the LNFs which are way way way more finicky than the LSJ. HP tuners is good for the LSJ but you gotta make sure you have a guy that knows what he is doing. Ask Mac (Omnigear) about that... If you go HP tuners the actual guy tuning it makes all the difference in the world.

How much do the tunes usually go for? as in price?

Depends on if you are running HP tunes or Trifecta, and what you want. Some people charge more than others. But since bakersfield is pretty far from most people I don't think it would be too unreasonable to ask for a little help with gas to get there. see if you can find someone closer to you and see how much they cost.

i think the closest tune shop to bakersfield that will make good gains (ive been many times cause of upgrades)
is in anaheim called something like superior automotive engineering i think

i know dynos are hard to find so this is by no means an advertizement just an guided opinion. but my dyno time cost 500$ and it includes access fee for hptuners if you bring a memory device he can save the files on that as well. and it also includes all the dyno tune time. and gas of course is on you to bring put what you want to run in the tank. some people put 100 or run 91 with methanol he can do all of that and nitrous.

hope my opinion and previous experiences can help you.

shops r ok. but since the cobalt community knows all the little bugs and tweaks. its best to find someone with hp tuners in your area.

honestly if you pay over 300 bucks your getting ripped.

the money you pay isnt full profit usually bc the tuner has to unlock your cars year. and that cost credits. credits=money.

so max is prolly 300. and If you want to know tuners on CSS lemme know. if you want trifecta im sure someone can help.

the way tuners work on this site is you find someone with HP tuners. they contact a tuner. tuner emails your tune to them. they open and upload into your car. while the new tune is on. they log what your car is doing. then send the log to the tuner. then the tuner tweaks the tune he gave you. takes about 2 or 3 times to get it dead on
