just put on a new header and downpipe. drive for a week then threw a CEL. i am most likely going to the meet on Sunday (meeting at islands at 10...right?). will anyone be able to bring a thing to check my code and possibly clear it? dont want problems going to the dealer, plus i dont want to be dicked around. i bought my car from a dealer about 40 miles away cuz they were the only ones that had my car. i have a dealer about 2 miles away, but they most likely will tell me to go where i bought it

i got ya. carry a CEL reader in my car with me at all times can clear the code, but if the issue thats causing it isnt resolved, then it will probably come back in a day or two. It's probably an emissions code. Does your new DP have a cat?

yes, it has a high flow cat. i made sure i got one cuz this is my daily driver and i don't want to envounter problems, which it looks like i do. i read in another forum on this site was to use a spark plug non fouler, the guy said he gapped the O2 sensor a bit and it worked fine. anyways i dont know. will wait for your opinion or see you at the meet

your best bet would be to either tune the code out, or buy one of those CEL eliminators or something, but come time for emissions, you might not pass. course that isnt until 2012 for you, so it might not be an issue. If it is, i'd just do as i suggested as a band-aid for now and fix it when you find out what the issue is. You'll either have to replace the cat with one that is working (i'm assuming you have the "low cat efficiency" CEL), or find the cause of whatever is triggering it, whether it be excess hydrocarbons or excess NOx or whatever.
We should wait until the meet though to make sure that that is what the CEL is for.

...its all good.....once i get a job ill start coming to the meets again...and then once i finish the balt ill bring the balt......but im already looking at mods for the saab....found out its really easy to raise the boost on the saab from its stock 10 to 19-22lbs...over at saabcentral.com...they are calling it the wilder mod...soo that will be my performance mod for it...but its still in the test phase...but im keeping up with it until i get some cash but its looking very promising

and for some reason i cant find any engine/tranny poly mounts for the saab....wtf??

i saw this one guy bought the engine tq dampner for cobalts and he is going to mod it to make it work...so pretty much if its performance or to help with performance they are adapting alot of things from the cobalt
