Just used some thin black vinyl to cover the holes. It looked ok for a quick vinyl fix and served its purpose. I heard GM sells black plastic plugs for the holes as well. The the car got back into a tree hard with 4K damage and got the whole rear fascia replaced with standard no hole trunk lid.

Well the Cobalt is gone as of a couple days ago. Had stage 2, 2.9 pulley, CAI, exhaust, poly engine and trans mounts, tune. All was take off and sold and put back to stock.
I'll probably quite coming to the site now that the Cobalt is gone.

No this was actually my sons Cobalt but I did all the wrenching on it. He is not getting another one as he wants a rear wheel drive car next go round. He said he had all the fun he wanted to have with a fwd car and was time to move on.

The stage 2 GM tune runs very very rich. Putting a 2.9 pulley on brought it into a much better afr range and it ran a lot better. It still was on the rich side but a lot better than with the stage 2 pulley. Our 2.85 pulley was perfect for afr's but the belt slipped at high rpm so took it back off. If you take it for any warranty work just throw the stage 2 pulley back on. If they ask why the blue GM bolts arent still on tell them they fell out and you had to replace them like I did. They cannot void the warranty because of different bolts on the pulley. They cant prove anything was on there other than the stage 2 pulley.
I was told aswell they can void the warranty for a CAI as well which is BS. They didnt say anything about ours on but its gonna depend on the service guys and if they are buttheads.
