What you see on the sticker is what I know. I bought this last June at Englishtown, so whatever the standard requirements for helmets at race tracks was at that point, is what the helmet is good for.

Ah, yeah. That won't cut it for anything other than a drag strip.

Auto-x has to be Snell M2000+ and for a road course it has to be Snell SA2000+ and some won't accept anything past 2005.

You might want to see if there's a sticker behind the back padding, sometimes they will hide it up in there. Other than that, it's a drag-only or for motorcycle use depending on the state regulations on helmets.

Good luck with the sale though

The helmet is about $175-$180 new.

Not a bad helmet...good for in car stuff...on the bike I am not going to give an opinion on this helmet.

Bump for a pretty good price

Safety.

Never ran an auto X but that would be my guess.

All my helmets are Snell...because what they do for DOT is a joke

Bingo. That and they want a standard that they can say what's OK and what's not. While auto-x doesn't SEEM like too "dangerous" of a sport, seeing as how most of it takes place under 50mph.....the forces you put on the car are insane and every once in a while you DO have a wreck here and there. it takes the liability somewhat off the club, at least where it comes to safety equipment. Now if you have a poorly thought out course *thinks back to Porta-Pottygate in Philly*, and it's deemed to be "unsafe" by the higherups, then yeah. But as far as safety equipment goes, they keep strict requirements on helmets, sets, and belts/harnesses.

I will bump again with some great advice.

Never buy a DOT only helmet.

Seriously you'd be better off with a bicycle helmet.

Noice, that will make someone a really good auto-x helmet. SCCA will accept a certification for 10 years, so that can be used until 2015.
