i wouldnt recommend this bro u never know if they have fucked it up or not..its not like a xbox or something ur talking about ur life...if a helmet drops from a sport bikes seat and hits the ground it has broken its integrity and is no longer good...shoulda got ur gear thru ur loan for the bike...trust me i was rear ended doing 15mph and the jeep cherokee was doing 50..gear is so important dont be a jackass in a short sleeve and shorts...do it right ur life is worth more than "looking cool" cuz if u go down...u wont look cool dead

Wal-Mart now sells helmets. There are also lots of close-out sales on e-bay. When I bought my motorcyle helmet to use for auto-x I paid about $50 shipped brand new.

You don't have to buy a $500+ helmet to have a kick ass helmet.

Make sure it is not only dot but snell ceritified...look at the scorpion line of helmets...comparable to an Arai...get a good LEATHER jacket...they keep you cooler/safer than a mesh. Gloves, some boots...do NOT be a squid

When I picked mine up, it's was a brand new Snell M/DOT 2005 approved Arai helmet. Closeout store on eBay - $50 shipped.

Just make sure you're dealing with a reputable person, mine was a while ago so I don't know if I'd still have the seller's name, but if I can dig it up I'll post it.

Arai makes a great helmet. They do cost more. I bought my first one and hit a deer wearing it. Let's just say I went and bought another Arai. The removable pads are something to look for to. If the cheeks are to loose or tight you can buy a different size to get the custom fit you diesire in a helmet. They are quiet and light as well. Many options for shields as well.

Yea theres pieces inside a helmet that crunch in order to absorb some impact soo some one might have taken a fall then concealed the damage
