Old Cellphones/Laptops and Tungsten Carbide

it's winter time and once again I have alot of time on my hands. If anyone has old cellphones or laptops I will pay by the pound (shipped) I will send you a label too. Also in addition PSPs, tablets and other smaller devices...broken or not since I pay by the pound.

I don't care if it works that doesn't increase the value much...things that are more than one generation old have very little value (read: is not 4g lte). Obviously I don't want S3 and iphones...unless they are broken since you'd make more selling them yourself.

Lastly I am paying for Tungsten Carbide...its slightly darker than steel, used in tooling, cutting, taps and wear items. Very brittle but hard, slightly magnetic and sparks dull red when you grind on it.

So if you have anything, PM me or post up and I will PM you an offer. I supply the shipping label so that is factored into the cost.

I've got a bunch of carbide reamers of varying sizes if you're looking for those.

What are you looking for the tungsten carbide for?

Theres a few hundred pounds of used inserts at work that nobody really knows where it goes. I wish they would give it to me lol.

All you can do is ask. I have family that owns a tool and die company, they reprocess the carbide (back to its powder form and make new tools and cutters out of it, complicated and I am not exactly sure how it's done except it's hot and the machine is the size of a bus.

I will pay way more than steel price I can tell you that much.

I pay per lb for old phones and laptops. Carbide is also paid per pound.

Pretty simple process, you send me a picture of what you have and how much it weighs and I will send you a shipping label for a flat rate box and half the estimated proceeds via paypal (not gifted). After I sort everything you get the rest, usually same day I receive the shipment.

I have a 10 gallon bucket full of tooling from my mazak. All carbide. Endmills, drills and taps. I can't find a safe place to scrap it though. My job wouldn't be to happy about it. So I'm just saving it up

Unless it's C2 carbide no I'm not paying that much. We really can't that ten dollar price is for china export, we're directly recycling the materials here in the states, I have to be able to cover my own expense.

An update, for those who are wondering: I have a pricelist that's good for the rest of January.

$5/lb for cell phones without batteries (working or non)

$1/lb for laptops without batteries and a known good screen (its hazardous disposal in my state with broken LCDs)

$5/lb for Tungsten Carbide, that said this is HIGHLY variable, I will absolutely pay that for C2 and acid resistant but you must provide proof of what you have with good high resolution pictures off all your pieces. In some cases surgical uncoated C2 will be paid more than spot price. I will take inserts too, like brazed inserts, only the price will be less and you won't get up front payment until it's sorted.

Shipping is on the customer with the exception of laptops. Use USPS Flat Rate boxes. Larger carbides like plow or cutter inserts can be freighted at which I will pay freight up front.

Other things:

I am paying $14.00 lb for tantalum capacitors, google for examples, again, pictures of the lots you are interested in selling.

All payments are non-gift through paypal, you will receive initial payment for your lot at an agreed upon amount same day I receive a valid tracking number. You will receive remaining balance (adjusted for errors in identification and weight) after sorting.

Updated prices:

No longer accepting electronics, I need to sort about a thousand phones and laptops and it's utterly taken over my garage.

$5.15/lb for clean carbide end mills, drills, reamers, files, wear items and inserts.

$4/lb for anything brazed (using silver solder) I have to physically remove the silver solder from the carbide before it can be reused...

Half now, last half when sorted, ship by usps flat rate...anything over 40lbs I will pay the shipping.

If anyone has questions you can PM me, email me at army_greywolf@yahoo.com or just post a reply right here.
