I'm on my Asus all the time and i never had any problems, its on/used a minimum of 8hrs a day for the last 1 1/2 years..

charge it with a dc inverter in the car... problem solved. wont have to stop what youre doing.

Lol this ebay laptop has something called a ARM processor.. when I click download it goes to new page but doesnt show hptuners anywhere

 

why would the hpt box get fried if youre running a laptop off ac power from the car?

so what do you need to run this??? isnt hpt connected to the laptop? its not connected by usb to the laptop then to the car like tuneecu is for my bike?

 

yea it's connected via usb or you can log with the pro without a laptop lol
apparently someone had one fry else it wouldn't be on there.

something else has to be up. the usb ports are pretty limited in what they can deliver and the inductor in line with it should pop if enough current is going through it to damage the circuit. a good inverter shouldnt have any issues. if all else fails just buy a spare battery and keep it charged. switch it to ac to swap batteries and youre good.
