Is "Profile 4" the model of computer? or is it a title for a piece of software. because I am a computer technician and I dont remember seeing anything software that says profile 4. I may be wrong though.
If your trying to restore the OS, any Windows disc will work as long as you have the Product Key stickers on the side of the computer. Just find either an OEM or Retail disc that matches the sticker (XP Home, Pro, or Media Center, etc..) on the Computer, and use your key. Even use IRC, BitTorrent to get a copy of the OS, or a friends Windows disc. All the drivers for the computer will be on Gateways website.
Also, Gateway can mail you a new OS disc, they can overnight it if needed.

I installed an updated OS XP Pro and well the cpu works fine. But i need the audio software and ethernet software. Besides that the cpu works fine just dont get audio nor internet. I downloaded the software on a disc from gateways site and installed it. But nothing. Is it possible that the OS disc i used could of put on a different audio software and the actual software wont install unless the other is deleted?
um...you could always just go download the drivers online. if gateway doesn't have them, someone will.
google the model name of the computer if you don't know the hardware brands\necessary drivers you'd need. everything you'd ever need for a computer is on the internet.
everything.

see if you can find a tool called "Unknown Devices" there are tools like that which you can download and find what the name of the product is. Also check the Motherboard manufactures ewebsite,. they have **** like that too.
