I got my BPS last Friday and put it on Sunday. I also special ordered a custom made shift knob that they made special for me, and cut me a real deal on it too. What a nice shifter setup. It's everything that (3 letter name) should have been and then some, for less money. I'm so pleased by this purchase.

It is. It weighs almost nothing. If I had a drill press I'd be tempted to dimple it and make it even lighter but that would probably be overkill as it's so light already.

I don't understand the whole heavy shift knob thing. I want to feel what the transmission is doing, not slam gears and break things.

 

The difference between this and (three letter works P.o.S.) is amazing. I could tell right away that the reverse lockout tang is IN THE RIGHT PLACE, which made it dead easy to adjust this shifter.

On top of that, with (three letter word P.o.S) the cable clamp was designed poorly. It was difficult to tighten the 3rd screw, and it popped off of the bottom of the shifter easily. The snap ring didn't hold well. The BPS cable clamp was designed far better and was easy to tighten without fighting to get your fingers under the shifter to get at the 3rd screw.

Just a much nicer piece with more attention paid to the small details.

I got a weighted knob cause my stock shift knob was damaged by some idiots at Belle Tire.
But it still feels the same.. I got a 300 series.

 

I bought the BPS today.
Called it in and they were very professional and pleasant.
Shipped it today as well.

Can't wait for it.

Just got notice from my CC company they bill from an internation address apparently? Anyone else get this, I bought directly from them.

 

If only I just didn't blow a bunch of money on the cobalt already this month. Its a pretty good deal.

 

They are a Canadian company, so that would make sense.

Thanks BPS for a nice well made shifter, love mine. I still struggle sometimes if im shifting slowly, to find 5th, but overall i am very pleased. Thanks again.

 

Adjust your cables.

 

Great deal they have going on, Ill be buying one this week.

 

Do you mind to do a How-to on the forum for this? Everyone is telling me to adjust them, but all I see is my cables, nothing to adjust .

 

Unclip the clips on the shifter clamp thats holding the cables to the shifter.

un clip where I circled, u should only have to play with the passenger side only, an trial an error till it shifts nice, take it for a ride and c if she goes in all the gears, mine doesn't like to go in all gears when the car is off even when I had my stock shifter, hop[e it helps

 

i got the upgraded cable clamps. Its not so much that 5th is hard to go into gear, its that the shifter doesn't have a travel stop to the right like the factory shifter had. So if i shift slow, i seem to go to the right too far because there's nothing stopping me from going that direction. It goes into gear just fine.
