FlashScan V2 is a standalone OBDII vehicle scan tool and data logger plus a pass through device that connects a laptop computer to a vehicle for scanning, data logging and re-programming onboard controllers.

This product contains 2 VIN licenses. You can tune any 2 Engine controllers and any 2 transmission controllers with those 2 VIN licenses.

What does it contain?
FlashScan V2 Package Contents

FlashScan V2 interface device
EFILive Scan and Tune software installation CD
2 x AD-2 external input connectors
EFILive OBDII cable (J1962-A to RJ45)
EFILive USB cable (USB-A to USB-B)
EFILive Serial cable (RJ12 to DB9 female)

The tuning tool opens up the plethora of GM engine and trans maps (for auto trans) and allows for full retuning including fuel, spark, rev limiters, flex fuel, iat comp and much much more. I swear you will not find a more comprehensive, bullet proof software programming unit than this. I swear by this setup because I run it personally in my G8 GT.

Tell me what makes it better than hpt and why would i try something untested in the cobalt world when i can get help on hpt from what others have already learned. Not trying to bust your ***** but I am thinking of buying hpt and am wanting to know if there is a valid reason to get efilive instead.
I think a good place for you to start is to dyno some cobalts, tune them and then run them again on the same dyno.

Looks just like tuner studio software I used on my Conquest TSi. It ran on Megasquirt. Efi live I believe is almost the exact same but a few added "paid for" bonuses you would probably never use..

Oh, it used 12×12 tables.. fyi.

damn thats expensive compared to HPT. To me just by looking at its applications thus far it seems to be behind in the times, no LNF support ....

Unless it really goes above and beyond what HPT offers i cant see anyone switching or even attempting to learn how to use it ... its a little late in the game at this point.

EFI Live is excellent and VERY well known in the Diesel and LS derivative market. It is the epitome of tuning software here. It's tried and proven 10000 times over. Like I said, I have it powering my G8 GT and the stuff is super slick. I will delve a little more into it below....

There is unfortunately no LNF support at this time, but I was told it's coming soon. It's probably because the ECU is a Bosch controller as apposed to a Denso one like the older LSJ models.

There are a plethora of tables and probably close to about 600 tables that can be modified. I mean it's realistically more than what you would ever need to modify.

The EFI Live one size fits all package is the equivalent of the HP Tuners Professional VCM Suite. The EFI Live unit comes with a V2 flashscan tool though. This is what really adds value to the setup AND is justifiable for the $150 more charged.

This little hand held module allows you to realtime code read (OBD2 scanner), datalog, change tunes on the fly AND reprogram existing maps without the use of a single laptop. This nifty fella is the added bonus to the setup vs HPT.

The EFI Live stuff is pretty straight forward wise. You get to modify 2 engines and 2 transmissions no questions asked out of the box. No credit monkey business like HPT. It's clear and concise. So if you are a DIY tuner, you and a buddy can split the cost of the EFI Live and tune both of your vehicles for the cost of about $450 each. Or if you have say a Cobalt for your DD and a C6 for your toy, you can tune BOTH for that price.

The software, I will post about in the next post.....sit tight.

I know in the LS world this is the king of all software. I'm just curious to see what tables are available for the LSJ. Aslo the custom OS option is pretty awesome, not sure if there are any for the LSJ tho.

The maps are 20x20 for VE based tuning. Here is a file from an 02 Z06.

No pulse width. No nominal values. Pure VE tuning. Plenty of maps and multiplier maps to go around. Just a quick peak into some of it.

Same tables really. No real difference. Slightly different because of boost being present so the VE tables are 1BAR, 2BAR etc.

dont blast it before we know all the specifics. It does have several things stacked against it though.

1) HP Tuners has unlimited car tuning potential, I can have the customer buy credits and tune hundreds of cars that way.

2) The cost is already greater than the primary competition, and for as many EFI Live tuners as there are floating around, there are just as many HP Tuners.

3) Those crappy little boxes are bogus junk. They do nothing that a tablet or laptop cant do above and beyond better. Who really cares if you can clear trouble codes? My laptop can give me a complete readout of the code, possible fixes, and a plethora of other resources.

4) HP Tuners is resalable. If I tune my car and Im done modding it or I part with my car then I can sell my HP Tuners to someone else and it still work on any car they put it on.

The only way I would purchase this product is if there were maps that exceeded HP Tuners current footprint to the point that every issue I currently have with HPT solved and allow me far more capabilities.

Real Time Tuning
Ability to control fueling above 8192 RPM
Ability to install injector tables regardless of size without having to play with multipliers
In fact get rid of most of the multipliers altogether
Ability to add sensors like flex fuel sensors, Nitrous controllers, Launch controls, etc.

and I want the damn shift light to work! I think its bullshit that I can adjust it in HPT and it still doesnt work on any LSJ cars.

This sounds like you'd be better off with a custom standalone ECU

Sounds like. You would be better off with AEM EMS or hydra. Idk if hydra works on these tho. But, 20×20 is awesome. Can this system read a wide and signal and interpret that like megasquirt? I wired my AEM uego into the ecu and programmed it in tuner studio. I hope this is an option. .reading the stock O2 just won't cut it.
