I have one of these, however, it is not on my car yet.
Nice units though and I hope to have mine on in 2 weeks.

Can anyone vouch how the rears work on the sedan? Do they even work on sedans? I want one but really only a rear.

You have to make your own holes to mount them so I am sure it will be fine.

Well yeah I have seen how too threads to install them but they were all on 2doors... the rear of the SS sedan has like no mount points near the bottom of the bumper. The metal bumper is way up behind the plastics... like a good foot above.

Edit: ok maybe not a foot i over exaggerated. but higher than the spacer they have with the kit

I think sedans got 2 different bumpers. We can supply a longer spacer if needed to get the clearance. The normal spacer is .5", you may need 1". If you would like to try it as is and let me know how it goes I will work with you on it. If it needs a bigger spacer I can send you an extra one, if it doesn't fit at all I will take it back for a refund.

Alright I will give my underside a looksee when I leave work but I am pretty sure the SS sedan bumper is way up underneath and there are no welded in factory tow hooks like you see on imports where they bolt on those vertical ones.

I will post a pic of my sedans under side bumper before I buy but Highly interested now that they are on sale.

Oh yea, I forgot, different back bumper and no lip.

You can cut the bumper, otherwise you will need to fab your own spacer.
Googled it.

A 1" spacer should work if he doesn't have the rear lip.

All I have read is people suggesting to cut the rear bumper but no one has actually done it and documented how they did it. Plus going through the license plate slot is a no go for me.

Yes and no. You will need to measure from your bumper bar to where the bumper ends. You will also need to measure how far the hook has to drop from the bumper bar to clear the bumper cover. The rear bracket is longer than the front so between the 2 one may fit.

Are these functional for 35 bucks??
I'd like to read a review of someone that actually used one of these to pull their car out of a ditch ;-)

Let me go crash my car into a ditch and pull it out so you can feel comfortable buying something being offered at a great deal.
Leave it to the Cobalt guys to make a comment about a price being too low

I have one. I would use it. These things are not rocket science.

honestly if your car is in a ditch you have bigger problems than worrying about a $35 tow hook breaking on you.

So your comments are telling me that you have them for cosmetic reasons. Because this may come as a shock to you, but tow hooks are supposed to be for pulling your car out of a ditch, or mud, or gravel pit at the track.
If they are just cosmetic, that's fine, but people should know before they spend money on them.

No.
Read my post.
I am telling you I am not crashing my car into a ditch to satisfy your question.
Like I said, I have no doubts in mine.

1.) these are pretty beefy hooks, i saw the drawing when Josh first had them designed.

2.) its stamped metal, nothing fancy about it. A factory can stamp tons a day, hence the low pricing. Why others charge so damn much for it is another story.

3.) will it pull a car out of a gravel pit/mud .... idk but i would assume so, depending on other variables.

4.) If your in a ditch, you probably have **** busted as it is so wrap a chain around w.e you want and yank her out for the flat bed.

Everyone has there uses for a tow hook, most will use it for showing off .. but some will use it for its intended purpose. I am not sure if Josh did any kind of strength testing on it or not. I bet if you ask him he will let you know the type of steel being used, that should give you a good representation of its abilities.
