Are the stainless lines really necessary? If so, how come? Also, what about DOT 5.1 fluid, I was running DOT 4 at the track last year and it still boiled. heh. I know I see some DOT 4 fluid that claims to have a higher boiling point than some DOT 5.1's, but everyone I have talked to so far said, for racing, DOT 5.1 all the way.

Thanks

Stainless lines are not needed but they are the best way of going. If you're talking about boiling over your DOT 4 fluid, then stainless lines make the most sense. Your lines will heat up and the brake pedal feel will be spongy and inconsistent. I have stainless lines on my daily driver and I feel its the only way to go.

DOT 5.1 is the way to go. Period.

How much work is it to replace the lines with stainless ones? Thinks its DIY or should I pay someone?

Yup. Let me know when ever.

The stainless lines allow for a more direct pedal pressure feeling and consistent brake pedal performance.
