i was wronding if i could lower my car with tire on there. i have the american racing muscle rogue in black on my car and it doesnt look like i can lower the car any. has anyone tryed this yet?

 

Hey I'm actually getting ready to lower mine in a week or so. Except i have the 225/45/17 so i dont know if that helps much. What springs did you get? I bought the tenzo-R's.

 

your best bet is to go with a lower profile like a 40. Thats what i have on mine and its pretty good.

 

I'm runnin' the 225/40's on mine and I have PLENTY of fender gap... so I think I will be just fine, so you would be too!

 

Go with the 40's and you will be fine with lowering the car. Just don't slam her with some cheap springs. Some Eibachs, such as the sportlines would be just dandy

 

Any success going 225/40/18 and using the Cobalt-addiction springs?

 

i have 225/40/18 with the sportlines(SS/FE5) so i would think so
but what do i know

 

yeah those 225/45-18s will have a bigger sidewall than the stock 215/45s, so I'd go with the majority and get 225/40-18s.

 

will my spedo be off? I have the PCM update for the spedo from GM.

 

My tires rub with my 215/45/18 when I turn and I have H&R's

 

there is no problem with the speedo. Thats not enough of a change to throw off the speedo. Like i said i have 225/40's and no problem. I know cause i have been stopped and it matches up with radar.

Also if I decide not to lower can I run 225/45/18 without rub, and how much of an enhancement does the 225 width give over the 215 stockers?

 

well i have the kdw's and there is a little bit more road noise, but its not bad. and the 225 are a little bit bigger.

 

you wont rub with 225/45/18 but if you lower it i dont know here is some pictures of my car and willgive you a idea of what a 225/45/18 looks like. i am going to go eiback sportlines when i get the money.

Blown....which lowering kit did you use? I'm thinking about going with Cobalt Addictions since it is between sport and pro from Eibach. Any scraping around town driving? How careful do you have to be?

SS4speed- What rims are those? I see Kuhmo for the tires....how are those working for you on the 'balt?

 

the rims are American Racing Muscle Rogue Black and i dont like the tires it seems like all they want to do is spin. But I love the Rims.

 

Which Kuhmo's are they? Are you getting a lot of wheel hop just like stock? How is the shift into second chirp/spin ect...?

when i had the stock wheels and tires on it didnt spin at all it just hooked and went. not it is spining in 2nd bad but it could also but where it is cold out side.

 

If the ground is consistently 45F or below all the time then a non-winter tire is going to be harder and you lose traction....or so I'm told....

no definitive answer on tires...I just gotta pick some that fit my budget and see...thank you!

 

Im running the sport kit and yeah im really carefull driving around town. But the suspension does ride nice and iv never scraped anything yet. But it prettty much just sits in the garage to.

yeah id go with 40s for smaller sidewall and im not lowered but i have 225/45/18 in front and 235/45/18 in back haha
