Question 4 lug to 5 lug...

im pretty sure i seen a thread on here about doing this... what all is need to switch to 5 lugs without abs... on the front it looks like you can just swap the hub and bearing assembly with a grand am or ss/sc ??? and on the back replace the whole twist beam with one from a ss/sc? OR the redneck way... have the hubs drilled and studded with a 5 lug pattern then put 5 lug disks on the front and either have the drums drilled for 5 lugs or use drums from a cavalier or something? and what about using a cavalier front hub and brake setup on the front for the 5 lug conversion? i know someone has thought of this stuff before or even done it...

i believe they said there was way too much work involved in getting this to work
plus, i believe you'll have to get ABS if you were to switch to 5lug, all the 2LT's and SS's have ABS i think

Ask Maven, he's done it.
My .02 tho, if you have a non-ABS car, you don't have to have non ABS hubs just clip the wires from the hubs you get or you can get HHR LS rear hubs and drums and front components. They're interchangeable and 5 lug. Thats if you just want 5- lug.
I'm changing the front rotors, hubs, and calipers from a SS and switching out the whole rear axle from a SS.

But pm Maven or look for his write up on the subject. He seems to be the Cobalt guru.

hub, wheelbearings, and calipers and brakets for the front.
the rear is the whole axle.
don't worry about abs if you don't have it. the pickup for abs is on the axles.
