5 lug swap
5 lug swap
I know a few people where talking about this with me in some other threads so, got most of the parts today the rest show up tomorrow. Gonna make the atemp tomorrow after work. Hope fully it all bolts up.
Cause the front brakes on an ls blow, and I got lsj calipers and wheels at a steel. Go the hubs and new rear drums. I'll take some picks but I still haven't figured how to post here, I'll give it a try tho
Done and done, rears took all of about 20 mins, would have been faster but the drive side spring got in the way had to work around it a little. Didn't take a lot of pics but I have some, when I have time later tonight I'll figure out how to get them up.
Brake pedal feels way better, wasn't expecting it to feel that much firmer. It's been raining a lot around here so hopefully I can get out this weekend and toss it around push them a little see how it responds.
Car needs to be lowered bad now tho lol, guess its time to save for coil overs.
As far as rear disk goes, if this works out and does what I want it to, why bother I don't track it, not gonna track it so I don't see the point.

IMO drums look like **** lol, only reason why I did it
Got a loaded ss trailing arm an loaded front as calipers from the wreckers for 250, so it was a good deal I had to jump on lol
Looked waaay better IMO

heres a link i hope it works, i didnt take as amny picks as i wanted to i was kinda on a time restrant. i had to get done before they locked the shop up. hole thimg was straight forwad, just take out the 4 lug and put in the five lug, adjust the rear brakes, bolt on and bleed the calipars.

legit, o would have done the same thing, lol. i got the wheels and front calipers for a littl ebit less then that.
Looks like this is going to be done for me soon to! I have to get lsj front calipers again though lol Glad to see it worked out from the other thread we were talking in!
Yeah man, I can't wait till its dry enough out to start throwing it around. The fact that I have base model struts seems more noticeable now some how gonna try to get coil overs by the end of summer.
06, don't see why not, other then a lnf the all have the same knuckles. If your and 09 you should already be five lug right? Then it's just a mater of calipers and rotors, way easier then what I did.
Oh man, I'm getting up there in miles on my struts too (about 83K) I want to pretty much swap out the entire front end owhen I do this (new control arms, sway bar links, etc..) My car has dveloped a clunk in the front end (i replaced my CABs) and it helped with thte clunk but now its back lol
No I got 4 lug too lol.. but I plan to do the front brakes first then do rear discs
I recommend changing the rear shoe too, I didn't and now I have a pretty strong braking vibration in the rear, hoping that's it. But yeah hubs, drums, hubs, calipers, brakes. Between all the parts getting the wheels powder coated and tires, I'm into this for about $1150 and I got deals on the wheels tires and the drums were on sale at half price, so. It's a fair chunk of change.

.We've got a wrecked Cobalt SS/SC and a wrecked G5 5 lug in the yard... so I might talk to the boss and see what he wants for parts.
