abs light problems

OK well let me start by saying I have a 05 cobalt ss/SC. I have recently noticed that when I hit my brakes in the snow the ABS will kick on for a sec or two and then the ABS light will kick on and my ABS will not work any more. Can any one shed some light on what might be causing this to happen.

It could be the WSS (wheel speed sensor) going back. Or maybe it has a loose connection.

Check the wires coming out of the rear of the wheel bearing hub.

If the ABS light comes on all the time, you'll need to replace the hub bearings.

If you have an 05, then the original hubs lasted 7 years. That's not too bad.
