Another "will this fit" thread: FE5+Pedders on LS

Hi cobaltSS! Long time lurker here. I've got a 2008 (late late 2007) Cobalt LS (not XFE) with the L61. Running 15" 205-65s on nice little Koenigs (unfortunately the rims EVERY G5 and Cobalt roll around with haha).

I am considering Cobalt FE5 Struts and Shock with Pedder Spring Pkg TCSS
that spring kit with FE5 front struts and rear shocks and Pedders springs. My question is, aside from the components included in the kit, is anything else needed to mount these? Are there any other FE5 components I'll need, or is the kit all inclusive?

I AM aware that Koni yellows are better than the FE5 kit, but that would nearly double the price hehe

Also, any qualms about running 15" rims with a drop? I'm looking into 16s or 17s (can't even get Nittos in 15" lololol), again, any suggestions there? Again, I am aware the less sidewall the worse the ride.

The car is a daily driver and sees work as a pizza delivery vehicle; one reason I am looking at pedders and not going lower.

205/65's are huge tires, And no you don't need anything, unless You wanna replace your strut tops.

a 205/65r15 is actualy just a little shorter than the ss/sc stock 215/45zr18. going off that, i would say itll work ok.

You will be lower with pedders just not as low as with other springs so you should consider steering rack spacers. You should also probably change you sway bar end links for an upgraded set. Most people recommend Moog's that fit the FE5 suspension which you can get from Rock Auto.

You don't need anything extra, and pedders will sit fine on those tires. Rack spacers are something I got when I lowered mine, but it's up to you $20 is cheap for me. Been thinking about getting Moog endlinks but haven't felt the need to get them yet.

Thanks for the info, everyone. So the Moog End Links do what in terms of changes to handling?

Also in regards to the tire, yeah it might be bigger than the pizza cutter 195/60-15s that are stock but they aren't nearly as wide as the 245/40/18s I see people putting on their SSes :P

In fact the 205/65 is almost exactly the same size as a 235/40-18 in terms of height, just with about 1.5 inches more sidewall.

I'm thinking of getting some Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs or RE-11s in 205/50-15 and in the future switching over to some 17s and using my current rims for winter-ish tires. But seeing how it seldom snows in New Mexico I might just have some DWS Contis or something. I don't know yet

you will need fe5 links with fe5 struts, and you DO NOT need any kind of spacers, pedders are a baby drop.

It's under 2008
Cobalt 2.0 Turbocharged
Suspension
Stabilizer Bar Link
it's 9.86" Center to Center.
Thanks again!
