This car JUST came out. Wow, us saturn ION owners have been waiting for 2 years for stuff to come out (and some stuff has) but d00d, give the aftermarket time to see if people respond to this car or not. The aftermarket must see if people are buying the car before they will think to produce something for it. There are some ION parts out there that might be interchangeable with the cobalt. I'm not sure on that though. www.spswebpage.com has a strut bar for the ION. A little ugly IMO but very good support. It MIGHT fit the cobalt too. Just tossing an idea out there for you. Also, www.saturnmotorsports.com is releasing another strut bar for the ION very soon. That might also fit the cobalt in case you want to try it out.

Ok thats what I was wondering, I knew the car was close to the Ion, and I didn't know what they had out for that car yet. Seems like the Honda guys get parts next day. Whats up with that lol.

Trust me, I know. Every new Honda car is guaranteed to have stuff out for it within a week. Hell, even the ugly as hell current Civic SI hasa set of projector headlights, and altezza tails, and the ION doesn't. The civic SI has been deemed a sales flop, just like the ION, so why does it get favored? It's a Honda, thats why.

Thumbs up

And that's what I like about Hondas. Not having to wait for support.

saturnd00d, what are you referring to when you say the current Civic Si? The 2002-2005 Si? Or the 2006+ one? I agree the 2002-05 was ugly as hell but the 2006 is . I don't think it would have flopped if they made it a coupe like the upcoming one (and the previous one).

Here's the 2006... http://world.honda.com/news/2005/4050210.html

Yeah, it's a concept and it looks like the fender flares were added on and I'm sure the wheels and brakes aren't going to be included but it's got a great look to start with. They said that it will come with LSD and 200hp.

In this case, I'm betting there will be tons of aftermarket support even before the Civic Si comes out. I'm assuming that a lot of RSX-S engine and suspension mods will work right off the bat. It'll be the exterior mods that will be out soon after.

I have a feeling that the new Civic Si is going to dominate (in sales) against cars in its class.

I think its ugly myself, but I am sure the aftermarket will be all over it.

give it time, you figure dc sport's been working on a damn strutbar for the cavalier for 6 months now i'm sure when the cobalt is in every dealer it will start getttin stuff made. strutbars from dc sport will be oout before the cavalier. and most likely RSM racing will have some out before everyone.

Player One, I was referring to the current 1-05 Si, the one that looks like a pregnant rollerskate.

I don't know if the Cobalt even needs a brace, I just know when I added one to my '89 Z24 it made a world of difference

We are looking for a Cobalt to proto-type one on. If there is anyone in Southern California that wants to come out we will start to build em.

We are a custom fabrication shop and started making fuel rails for other cars but we are looking into the cobalt.

So if anyone is in the Lake Elsinore/Corona/Murrieta/Temecula area (or further and willing to drive) PM Me for further details.

California will be one of the last places to get their SS's, but you should have a few kickin around by the end of the month

OK just to let you know im not tryin to be a ***** its just an idea...

The 06' SI does look cool in eyes like ours who like sporty performance car, but not the everyday person...

If honda uses the same body for every civic... in other words if that styling we see in the SI concept is the basic direction of the car the civic could have some trouble selling to the general public which is what truely makes the car so great in its sales.

Most people actually buy a honda civic for reliability and gas not becuase of HP...

I could be wrong and it also might only be a body style JUST for the SI but then why even call it a civic just call it the SI

^^^This is for Chevy4Life85 even though this is off topic I'd like to explain this to him/her

The same thing would apply to the cobalt. Why call it a Cobalt why not call it an SS.
SI is just a Model selection just like our SS. See there are different Civic models cx, ex, es, ds, whatever they are and also SI. Just by happens that SI is their top of the line model. If you are talking about the body styling being just for the SI well then what about the current SI its a hatchback and it only for that model style. You know you might be right that body styling might just be for the SI but its still a civic...a civic SI. I'm sure Honda has other cars that they don't sell here and those other cars I'm sure will have an SI model. Just like chevy have many cars and a s**tload of them have an SS model.

But lets get back to the strut tower bar question. CustomRaceWorks have you guys found anyone yet? Also i thought the Cobalt SS models came with their own Strut tower bar? If they did could other models just use the factory one?
