The best springs and your advice please before i BUY!!!!

Ok i have been contemplating about some springs now for a while but there are a few things i need to know before i buy....The roads in town arent that great for one so yah i understand that i will scrape sometimes o well!!! But, i dont wanna sacrafice the ride of my car majorly for one i want the look of a good drop also

Now There are a few options out there such as:

Progress
Eibach Pro kit
SSC springs
Eibach sportlines

Now with all these in mind, do all of these have camber correction kits?? I see that on Ptuning.com they have a camber correction kit for the cheapest spring which are the SSC springs....Do I honestly need a camber correction kit?? If not let me know

I dont want yall bullshitting me, i want the truth dont just post to try to get your posts up

Thanks
max

got the sportlines on my 2.2! I still have yet to find somone that did not like them, I think that says quite a bit. Install is gonna be the same for all so you need to decide how much drop you want and go from there. I did not need a camber kit for mine but I dont know about others

you will not need one unless you auto-cross really. sure you can get one but its not needed for the street.

I've got sportlines. A bit stiffer ride than stock but that is expected, great look and great handling. I love em.

You can't beat the SSc spring for the money. Great ride and not too low.

If you'd like to see all your options they are:

Eibach sportlines
Eibach pro-kit
H&R sport springs
H&R race springs
SSC
Sprint
Gold Line
Tein S. Tech (when they are ever released)
RSM Racing/Z-Spec
Canuck Motorsports
Tenzo-R
#1 (Nopi's personal brand) but dist. on Cobalt-Addiction
K-Sport
Progress
Road Magnet

I believe that's pretty much all of them. In terms of quality/trusted name, I say Eibach/H&R/Progress and Tein are the best IMO. But I've never used ALL of these springs obviously, so can only opinionate but so much. I have Eibach sportlines and I love them, and my Focus driving buddy has H&R sport springs and he loves them. And Progress has always made nice stuff too.

So overall I say Eibach, H&R or Progress.

it depends on how much your lowering your car, typically anything over 1" will alter the suspension characteristics enough to justify needing a camber kit. ingalls has a camber kit that will fit our cars. it all depends on what u want really, there are so many options out there. I like suspension, and if u want my honest opinion, the only springs that i would get that are currently on the market are H&R's thats it, matched with some koni shocks and you'll have an unbelievable sporty ride. thats based on quality that i can trust, H&R would be the only way to go. until B+G comes out w/ springs I will go with H&R, the ride height is there, quality and performance. but to answer your question yes get a camber kit with any spring really. and get it aligned.

I have sportlines without the camber kit. I also live in Detroit and am surprised i haven't bent a rim yet. Ride is a little rougher but I like them. I installed them myself in about 1 1/2 hours. Make sure you get an alignment afterwards.

Ok, getting sportlines on my SS/SC. What does a camber kit actually do? What's the real benefit of it.
Anybody have a link for a camber kit to use with the sportlines?

everyone seems to love the sportlines. I didn't get them for 2 reasons. First they are too low for my tastes. and the price. I went with the SSC springs. the drop isn't too low, I think its right about where GM should have put the car. ride is great, no problems there. do a search and you will find a lot of good info on them. no one has said a bad thing about them that i'm aware of.

you don't need a camber kit. its not a bad idea to get one, and if you do any autocross or road racing its a nice thing to have, but you really don't need it. lowering the car won't effect the camber enough to talk about, you will still be within the limits. I didn't bother with getting one, I do a little bit of autocross, and I don't think i'm being held back by not having a camber kit.

well see i dont want the front end dropped that much, i see that cobalt addiction has some springs for the ss that only drops it a little less than half a inch and the back more than an inch which is what i want.....

Neway, the ssc springs say they have something along the lines of being close to the ride of stock...Hows this work when the drop is bigger than the sportlines on the front of the car??

^ the SSC's have a spring rate that is close to stock, so it just feels like stock but lower.

I want the perfect springs so the 17's will look good inside of the wheel well. I would rather buy just 18" rims and be perfect but this way I can get it dropped and look good. What springs would be perfect for that, I saw the Tenzo R's on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TENZO...QQcmdZViewItem

I am the only "guinea pig" for Road Magnet Springs. I highly recommend them, they are not available yet, so if you are not in a hurry they are worth the wait...I just got off the phone with Mark Habicht of Road Magnet and one of the machines are down, and has been down for quite some time and this is why production has been at a stand still. We have made a few changes to the design and I will update you all when I get the final set on and when they are finally available to the public. If these springs are good enough for Team Lexus, I believe they are good enough for us!

I say the prokit gave me a better than stock ride, it does so with variable spring rates, and, when I'm hard in a turn and I hit a bump or hole or something, instead of the car getting all loose it stays planted to the pavement. The handeling is perfect. It just hits the turns hard and keeps planted and solid. Minimal body roll as well.

For handling purposes only I'm certain that the pro-kit offers the best performance.

This is just a pic to show you how much it really drops the car.
